I want to sell my LHD Alpine back to the French and was told the buyer would have to pay taxes, presume that maybe import taxes?
I am not sure of this as apparently when importing a car into UK, or at least one over 10 years, assuming it was an EU car there are no taxes to be levied.
I don't know if this is the same case in France but maybe so because France is EU, would have thought that all EU states have the same law, it may well be that cars over 10 years can be freely moved from one EU state to another without tax as long as over 10 years old and correct procedure is taken whilst re-registering etc.
mine is in fact an Original French Import bought into the UK as brand new in 1985, a few months before the UK RHD's actually arrived.
Maybe it is even easier to re-register in France because it already was at some point French registered, or at least when it was brand new?
