Is there any good reason why the GTA sump is deep and ali but the 25T is shallow and steel ????????The oil level will be higher in the block on the 25 .
The GTA one acts like a heat sink ?It is heavily ribbed ..............

The pick up on my GTA sump does not need a spacer ..............................So they have two different sumps and matching pickups BUT also spacers so you can fit the 25 to the GTA :?:
I was thinking the 25 sump would mean it's less likely to slosh about when giving it Le Stick :!:

There are two types of pickups, one with one supporting leg, one with two. The deep sumps use spacers on the pickup and the legs, Lee, yours was probably stuck together. They're showing as unavailable from DMC, have Renault not got any?

Interestingly, I recently supplied a s/h dipstick for a GTA. I didn't have one spare but was able to look at the precise difference in the oil level the dipstick measures in the 25t and GTA.

I discovered that the "low" mark on a 25t corresponded to the "high" mark on a GTA. In other words, there's plenty more room in a GTA sump!

The Venturi 260 has a 25t steel sump, but has a seperate oil cooler as standard.

I have not got the info on this, but it would be worth checking if the listed capicity of the engin oil is the same for both cars. It might be less on the 25. Also there might be a need to keep the sump on the GTA in the cool airflow, hence the ribs and in ali and just dropping down below the chassis level. If the oil level is too high in the engin, there is a risk of the crank hitting the surface of the oil.....not a good idea.

Mine is not stuck together ,no spacers ............It is 20mm higher than a 25 pickup .
Haynes quotes 7.5l for the 25T same as for the GTA:roll:
The dipstick marks are relative to the tube lengths so you can't compare the sticks themselves ..............the 25 tube sits higher above the rocker cover .It's the amount the stick protrudes beyond the pipe that matters ...........innit ?

25 runs a remote oil filter, cooler and remaining volume will be taken up in there.

That's only a couple of pipes ,total about 75cm long .Sure that wouldn't add up to much .All the rest is the same ,cooler etc .I suppose I can fill the pipes and see.....................
I'm fitting a Mocal cooler using the 25 take off plate and remote filter unit so that will take up some of the volume .

Two pipes 75cm long with say 15mm internal bore is about a third of a litre.

no anorak required lee, just work it out mafermatikelly over a pi r squared by length. do it in cm and 1000 cubic cm is a litre.

i estimate 0.132 of a litre.

...x2, there are two pipes

0.75cm x 0.75cm x 3.14 x 75m x 2 / 1000 = 0.264 litres
