Well.... learn it for yourself then.

It's not general tuning knowledge but specifics on the hardware - how the trigger offset can screw up the trigger settings even after moving it back to zero, and how the temp sensor calibration can mess up the CAS input.

If you're looking for a 100% expert on the adaptronic in this country, it's pretty obvious you won't find one.

Before using the Adapt again, I seriously recommend flashing the firmware.

See ,that's the attitude I get sick to death with .If I dealt with my customers that way ..................You pay someone to do a job , they can't do it then say learn it yourself .All I wanted was a nice, safe ,it runs MAP ,not tuned .

What can I say to that? I apologise if you don't think you got your money's worth (!)

I suggest taking it to Dave's man. If you get stuck, I've got some considerably better configs now than the awful "peterg6" config we started with.

Martin ,I didn't ask for the £100 now did I and you went away with a few goodies so I think I'm the one once again out of pocket .
We fell back on the awful PG map didn't we ? as your's for the modded fly and trigger wheel was just eating battery and starter .I've treble checked the trigger wheel and it is @ 60 btdc within a max 5 degrees as your map states .
I don't want to fall out about it ,it was just the blase attitude in ' not running massively retarded ,properly calibrated ' that got my back up .P'haps I'm pre-menstrual
I'll still talk to you  You want to see the rucks I get into in my business .' shit for brains ' numbnuts ,etc but I'm still doing business with the guys 20 years on .

Magnetic plugs

Postby Miles » Fri Apr 04, 2008 8:45 pm

Magnetic plugs,
Should not be used in high temperature engines?
Who told you this!!!!
Perhaps you should inform Rolls Royce, especially their aero gas tubines lab.
Which run considerably hotter than your average car motor.

However we do check them for loss of magnetism, occasionaly.
The test is they must be able to suspend 3 ball bearings in a row.

The process is as follows:
On an hourly op, depending on the engine Lynx Gem 7hourly Astazou Gazelle 25hourly from memory, been a while.
Probes are taken. There are several positioned all over the oil system on the gem and one per gearbox 15 in total on a Lynx.
The metal traces are then transferred to cellotape and stuck to a piece of card. Then sent to be analysed, to identify, the metal or flake, To pinpoint which component of module is about to go Bang.
Oil is also sent back as Soap samples. for spectrometric oil analysis , to again identify any gremlins.

This is all under the title of EFD early failure detection. Any sample that worries the lab, will either have the periodicity reduced or worse case scenario, the componet has to be replaced.
Anyway i am rambling now, but this system, does work very well.

Have a nice day.

Guys,

Back to the subject. Bought a oil drain plug kit and in there a 9mm and a 11mm but no 10mm, but the 3/8" key fitted fine! One oil change now complete ;0)

P.S My oil level guage has stopped working, anyone know where the sender is located on a GTA turbo so I can check for loose wires etc?

Thanks for the help

tools

Postby Miles » Wed Apr 09, 2008 6:16 pm

I was refering to Wrightbr, the guy who is/was doing an oil change.
Dave
Having just read your post, you is getting me confused, hence the edit.
Sump adaptor, basicaly a specialist tool for removing sump plugs.
I have 3tools with an adaptor on each end, hence the ability to remove 6 differing sump plug configurations. Vehicle specific.
Anyway got to go.
Hope that clarifies.
