I'm not sure but the same problem might be encountered with older Z7U covers on late rockers.

Martin, Make up a Rocker cover gasket shaped spacer, two gaskets, and Bobs your uncle :D :D :D

... my guess is he doesn't like them.... which may be why the rockers hit the cover. :roll:

Yep Martin doesn't like the timing cover gasket or fibre rocker cover gaskets as they're a bigger for leaking. Since switching to silicone only (as used by Renault on the late engines), I've never had a problem.

The problem is the ally rockers, not the lack of gasket. This is not the first time I've built a turbo engine using DeLorean covers, nor is there a problem using silicone on a stock DeLorean engine with iron rockers

Renault never put reground cams in an odd-fire, and neither has Dave.

Hmmm, why would Renault 'regrind' a cam, when they manufacture from scratch and fit the keyway in the correct position :? . They are not going to remove the keyway and just rely on the torque of the bolt in the end to hold the pulley in position like you do.. :!:
