Wheel nuts/studs

Postby GISKARD » Sat Apr 12, 2008 7:57 pm

Had a puncture in the week, on the rear offside tyre. Went to fit the spacesaver and it didnt fit :( the studs didn't line up. Managed to get the tyre replaced. Had to leave the car. Checked the car over for the MOT in my ownership and have noticed that it has four wheel studs on the front wheels and four wheel nuts on the rears. Not normal I presume....?

Mine has standard turbo wheels, and has 3 bolts, and 1 nut per wheel. Have you got non standard wheels fitted? Avatar shows standard wheels.

My GTA has AZEV 'M's fitted 17" on the front and 18" on the rear. I still have the original wheels, they came with the car when I bought it, I checked this week and they do not fit back on - front or rear, holes and studs do not line up.

Just checked in the "wheels" section of the website and the Azev M's come with hub adapters???? Maybe this is your problem and they have different nuts?

sounds like you have a different stud pattern, you need to find a space saver with this pattern.

a wee trip to the breakers me thinks :D

Yes, can be. I could be that the hubadaptors and made to fit the car in a 4x100 pattern, but the wheels that bolt to them are say a 4x108.. Need to take the hubadaptors off..
