like the Dino and 308 were not super cars of their time, ok so technology has moved on an now a Ford FOKUS is as quick , but, that does not mean they were super cars of their time. Somewhere like Goodwood is a historical circuit where they race old 17 litre supercharged beasts with drum brakes, but in their day they were the quickest thing on wheels.

So life is going to be real boring if only people with a Lambo or a Veyron turn up

In its day the GTA was a very quick car and the GTA turbo was more than a match for the midpriced 308 GT 308 GT Ferrari a super car or not in its day?

Given the choice a bright orange FOKUS with stunning (Stunted Looks) looks or a nice GTA I know what I rather prefer owning

Its a super car of its time in my eyes and would not expect it to perform the same as a the latest Lambo (Cant spell Guiardo)

I think the term of supercar these days can only be put down to 'exotic-ness' more than speed and handling, as we know they are not the fastest things on the road, or the highest specification or the best handling. Back in say 1985 it was a different ball game..

Not a supercar but it's still a super car
