GTA Turbo Exhaust

Postby Wrightbr » Wed Apr 09, 2008 7:37 am

Hi,

My exhaust on my GTA Turbo is looking a little worse for wear. Lots of rust on the outisde of the silencer, but not blowing (assume that it is just the outer skin rusting?). Think that it maybe time to replace it with a stainless steel one. Basically I want a stainless steel exhast that looks exactly standard (oval pipes in the same location etc) but that is freer flowing and has a bit more noise? Does anybody know if such an exahust exists or if I am going to have to get one fabricated? If one does exist does anybody have any pictures of one on a gta turbo to hand?

Thanks
Brad

Brad,
If you PM your email address I'll send a photo of the one I have fitted.
It also has the original unit along side so you can see the difference in size.
Also the weight is a lot less.
Cheers
Paul

ART have stopped doing the race exhaust with oval pipes, so if anybody is selling an ART race exhaust (preferably stainless steel) with oval pipes then I would be very interested :)

Thanks

DG why stop offering :!:

The overall look is great. My only comment is on the welds for the trims. Would be better if placed futher back so they're not visable when mounted on the car.

Right. I have source two Stainless steel exhausts with oval pipes.

Paul Sage at alpinerenaultrestoration does one. Looks quite similar to the ART one. Looks quite good. Anybody got one installed on a GTA ? Just worried that will be able to see silencer on this one below bumper as seems to hang quite low?

Also http://www.stainless-exhaust.com are willing to make one for me. They have made one before for a club member a couple of years back (he thinks they were called Brian or Barry?). Based more on original shape, but better noise and freer flowing according to guy there. Was the one made for a GTA anybodys on here?

Will probrably go for the http://www.stainless-exhaust.com one?

Any thoughts/comments?

Thanks

Think that was Barry Jayes from CAR who had one made there but not 100% sure.

Mine will be available soon if your interested, if not no worries.

Here is the company that made it:

I need a new unit myself but need it slightly silenced this time as its well over 100 db .I going to pop and see these guys about a single exit job .
