Wow...big changes to the home page and layout :D Whose is that car on the home page.....and where can I get a bonnet like that?????

Ah yes......the GTA style lights threw me! Bonnet not commercially available presumably.

Its a bit confusing on these cars...the JVC car is called the 1994 Lemans entry by Leagey and Ive read has 450bhp, but the plaque says the car above is the 1994 entry (by Leagey) with 450bhp, but they are two different cars. I didnt think a small team would run two cars in the same race, and if they did why are they different?, you can see the car above is far more engineered than the JVC entry...the JVC car is now in Japan and has never been raced since.,.

I read that this car was 600bhp, same engine used by the Helem Lemans entry.

alpines at Le Mans

I've now had a chance to consult my book... how sad!
The 1994 car was surprisingly standard...only the wings enlarged and the front spoiler modified. The rear had a large central section that could be removed for easy engine access. It ran a 2 valve per cylinder engine and had dry sump, twin Garratt turbos with 31.1 restrictors, producing 430hp weighing in at 1180kg. Luc Galmard was one of the drivers (a local hairdresser). The car was eventually sold to the Japanese SiFo team and is apparently still out there in Japan.
The followong year Legeay produced the car on the home page, a definite evolution of the first with a lighter chassis and panels, a bigger wing, and flat bottom. Wing mirrors also higher up the A-post. A huge NACA duct in the roof the feed cool air to the engine. The dry sump was abandoned in favour of a comparmentalised sump and the weight 1050kg. Power quoted in my book at 430hp. After the failure at Le Mans where Galmard was again a driver, it first raced at the BPR Paris 1000km and broke a gearbox. Legeay meanwhile went bankrupt.
The book doesn't say if the engine was a 24V like the Venturi cars had been running at Le Mans.

That sounds right. The plaque says that the car was produced in 1994 not raced in 1994 so it's almost certainly the 1995 entry. The constructor details also match.

I last saw the car over 3 years ago and it's possible that the owner has tweaked the boost since. I'm sure the car must have been set for reliabilty at 450bhp and could easy produce a lot more with a few psi extra.
