Help in SW England with an A310

Postby A310biturbo » Wed Jul 09, 2008 1:43 pm

Hi,
I have an ex-Swiss racecar Alpine A310 bi turbo.
I have now got the car running but I could use some help from people know these cars better than me.
I believe the PRV V6 is now a 2.5 with two turbos and programmable ignition. There is a printout stating the car has 320 BHP/370 NM torque! It has an external HKS wastegate system, 2 massive intercoolers with ducts in the back windows and spits flames.
The car is far from standard. It has 11x17 inch wheels on the rear, 9x16 on the front. AP brakes, Koni race suspension, AP sintered clutch, roll cage, perspex windows, kevlar seats and much more.
I need to get the car road legal to UK register it, should be fun!
The car is not happy idling and needs a few small jobs. I have had an exhaust made and new tyres as it was on Yokohama slicks.
I would love to hear of anyone in Devon or Cornwall who could help me. Also any interesting events with your club??
Regards
Andreas

Sounds like a fun car!! :D

I will be at Castle Hill climb (Lost Withiel) this weekend (12/13th July) in my slightly more modest A310.

Cheers
Mark

Awsum 8) do you have any pictures, would be even better to see it in the flesh at a club meeting or event.

Hi Andreas,

I was sorry not to see you or your A310 last weekend.
How is it going?

Simon.

Engine needed a rebuild, and having got into the detail of it, had likely been hastily rebuilt after letting go on a previous race outing - rod/piston/valve failure evidenced in various places. There has been some very serious money spent on it in the past, and given the exact nature of the modifications and blue-printing carried out on the majority of the parts, those that have not I suspect are replacements and poor copies on the subsequent build.

It will good to see the engine back in and the car back out on the track where it belongs... bit more work to do yet. Will let you all know when it's done :)
... A diamond is only a piece of coal that did well under pressure... PRV afflicted, may be I need to squeeze harder!!!!
