I presume that the Map sensor comes out of the "V6" next to the actuator, so isn't that also going to give a false reading?

"""" I know this is a separate point, but I think I would try and graft the dump valve in on the return branch to the TB if you can, as you will likely get increased spool lag after rapid engine deceleration otherwise, may be worth thinking about? You have the take off for the IAC solenoid... """""

What and where are the "TB" and the "IAC solenoid"? I'll happily T into anything if it makes it work!!!!!

Cheers

Brilliant!! I now totally get all the parts etc etc

However, although i now understand how and where to plumb in my dump valve, i am still at a loss as to where my Turbo gauge gets plumbed in! Is it on one of the pipes at the back of the "V6"? Along with the recirc from the DV (like what i did there!)

Sorry i know i'm being thick! Thanks for being so patient/helpful.....

I recently plumbed in a Prosport electric gauge (very good and easy to fit as you've only got to run wires through to the dash rather than vacuum hose - do you want hot gases in the cockpit?).

My set up is simpler as I still have all the original plumbing and dump valve - but the point is that by plumbing it into the dump valve vacuum, you get both the positive boost and vacuum reading - as the dump valve needs both to work.
As you've removed the dump valve setup, there must be a blanked off hose coming from the throttle body that used to have the dump valve's vacuum hose connected to it. It's this hose that you want to 'T' your boost gauge into to get it's pressure readings. In your case, this could be simply a case of connecting the boost gauge hose directly to where the dump valve hose used to fit.
I have pictures of how I did mine but I think they wouldn't help as I have the dump valve.

Hope this helps

Brilliant, thanks!

I just went and stared at it blankly for 10 minutes and then found exactly this hose next to the air filter! Will attempt fitting this pm along with oil temp gauge, lost on that too but at least i don't have too much potential to blow up the engine with this one!

Just one question though:

Is it better to vent the DV into the "V6" or into the intake hose before the Turbo?

Ok, so it's in!!!!

Used the old and blanked off DV hose. Also added a bleed valve and have set it up to get readings of about 11psi peak and holding 8.5-9. I think this is ok, having read previous postings. I'll up it to a little more after adding Martin's ECU. Out of interest my needle only goes "up" on the PSI scale not "down" on the otherside, is this right?

Big difference already though, turbo seems to spool up earlier in the rev range and come in faster- yay!!!!

Hi Jon
I cant help feeling there is something wrong here, clearly if your gauge is capable of reading both vacuum and boost, if it is connected to the dump valve take off on the inlet manifold, between the throttle control body and the heads, like Lee suggested right at the begining, then your gauge will read both. The fact that you say it does not, suggests to me that what you believe to be the blanked off DV hose, is in fact the wrong blanked off hose. I maybe wrong, but just for my info, can you describe exactly where this takeoff point is that you used.
