Martin,
I've priced the car not to sell but needs must so it's up there and the wife is kept happy. If someone offers me the asking price, it will go (but based on recent sales i think it more likely that I'll get a refund from Renault for only getting one lap at Le Mans!)
Still hope to see you at Portmeirion in a few weekends time.

Atmo, seems familiar as well :?

Grow up, its familiar because several times asked advice on its maintainance on here and instead sparked pages of ballshot:

Q. "Whats the safest way to remove the pins attaching the head to the block without damaging anything"
A. "Dunno, crow bar? But you should definitely use a cardboard Fosters beer box as a gasket, i always do"

I didnt, incidentally. Theres very little wrong with the car; electrical stuff, scruffy drivers footwell, the speedo occaisionally, the usual. New this and that. You nerds know to the penny how much these things are worth, make me an offer you'll get a deal. I want room for an NSX so this tediously unreliable plastic tub has to go.

Q. "Whats the safest way to remove the pins attaching the head to the block without damaging anything"

Its common sense really is it not, and if you cant work that out may be you should not have taken it apart in the first place

I can totally understand somebody giving an answer like that to be honest with the attitude like yours they sussed you out straight away and probably gave you what you deserve.

Unreliable - only if you dont know what your doing when maintaining them or the car has not been maintained....car probably fecked up by a nob wit...thats you

GTAlex82,
I am one of the so called middle aged spread guys who's wife is naggin to sell my cars and I do take offence at your tone. My cars are (all) up for sale not because my wife doesn't want me to have them any more (she drives them as well), its because of the current economic climate and a house that needs a lot of work. I chose the Alpine GTA because I like the way it drives and mine has been totally reliable, I shall be very sad to see mine sell. I have had fast Hondas in the past and while they were quick and reliable, they had no real character. Not saying they are bad cars, like you are about Alpines, because they are not. I enjoyed them but I enjoy my Alpine more.
I am just sad that you have had such a poor experience with yours because it has obviously left a bad feeling which is a shame. As for the guys on here, where's your sense of humour? It is after all a site for people who love Alpines, not loathe them and I can honestly say that compared to many other car clubs, the people involved in this one are a good bunch of guys (most of them anyway.............).
Enjoy your NSX, hope it lives up to your dreams and please stop being rude about guys loyal to this marque.

I can see your wound up by your reply as it does not seem to make sense; a bit of a wound up rant    , you dont burn my middle age spread at all because a) I am a bigger and better person than you, b) I dont have one.   You assume far too much

If you dont like the people and nobody forced you to come here......read between the lines

Hey I love the car old man, you is misrepresentin' ma pozishin.
My GTA is hilarious fun and looks cool, even if it is slow and thirsty and built like an airfix kit. I hope it gives someone the fun I've had in it.
I get the sense however from the emoticon-rich, irony-free tirade of abuse this si21 crybaby tapped out that for some the loves runs a little too deep.
Its just a car guy, a plastic toy, not a religion.

I dont doubt that you're bigger than me tubby. Does it cross your mind when you're hanging around in a field with other dads who happen to drive the same automobile as you that you might actually not be the core demographic the car you love so much was designed for? I mean, Ive looked up some adverts on Youtube for the GTA and not one of them features some angry aging fat bloke who cares way too much about his lame chatboard persona and types like a little girl :) :) :) ;) :) 8) :? :x
You dig?

You assume that you deeply scar me with your words. TBH I cant be bothered to actually read your response fully as you say everthing and nothing, so this is the last reply you will get as I am really not that bothered about who you are what you say......your nobody in my scheme of things its just been fun winding you up

Your a bit of an easy target though because the way you present yourself to people its obvious you set yourself up for it but Its now grown tedious, as its too easy.

Anyway you've shown your true colours on here, do you think here is best place to sell the car now?

Maybe you should try this site howto.outwityourself.com

Sorry to hear that you have had a poor time with your GTA.
BTW the body looks very smart.

Enjoy the NSX, I allways fancied one, still do actually, let us know how it drives compared to the GTA.

Hey Simon. Maybe I was a little harsh calling the old girl unreliable. I mean, I could always rely on her break down. GEDDIT? God I hope she can't hear me or Ill never get her going again. She's like that. Pretty but get on the wrong side of her and boy!
But you know, me and her had some awesome times together. I bought her for my 24th birthday present and it was love at first traffic light.
One time the battery pancaked in the fast lane of the M6 in rush hour a stones throw from the RAC call centre. My name is still etched in 3 foot high letters on the concrete barrier there. Its not PIES by the way, thats the M1. Im glad my name isnt Nathanial or Ezebenethial. Did you ever see that graffiti on the M40 that asked the following question in 6 foot letters of all the poor suckers stuck in their BMWS: "WHY DO YOU DO THIS EVERY DAY?" That was rad.
I lived on a farm with my buddies for a time and often pushed her down the hill toward a rapidly approaching farm gate, ran round the side and jumped in to bump start her. She only went in the ditch once. Polythene 1, Planet Earth, Nil.
She outlasted several girlfriends, got waved on by enthusiastic traffic cops once and got away from them once, and was left unmolested outside the Savoy for half a day when the water pump exploded.
I also said she was slow (sorry darlin) but I admit on the M45 she felt like she was going to go back in time, or at least over a hedge. Yep, good times. I think in reality, Honda or not, she'll end up being stored away for when I too am aged and grey and have a spreading midriff and less of an inclination to annoy people for fun. By then she might be the only one of her kind left. Imagine that! Like Knightrider. If Knightrider got soft and squashy in the sunlight and did about 12 miles to the gallon.
The moral of this story is two fold- firstly doing stupid irresponsible things is awesome; encourage it in your kids and they'll grow up big and strong. Secondly dont ever drive steaming and race the cops unless youre driving a plastic french Kinder Egg toy who's frontal crash structure and fuel tank are one and the same. You need that kind of focus to beat the Met's finest. Theyre the real heroes.
To the boys in blue, both the flashing kind and the French racing kind, I salute you!
