A Little Alpine Representation at Charity Motor Show

Postby mellowyellowa610 » Sun Aug 31, 2008 4:13 pm

Here are a few pictures from a charity motor show which Juzz Black and myself attended today. Wasn't expecting to see another Alpine :-)

Aye, that was a surprise! Very nice to meet a new Alpine owner! :D

We both went separately just to have a wander round the show and ending up being press ganged into exhibiting!

It's a small car show at Suttonfields near Runcorn. Location.

This was only the second year it's been run. It's organised by 'the Rotary club of Frodsham & Helsby' and it raises money for various charities. I spoke to the organisers and they were very keen to have the club display some cars next year. Maybe it's something we could do next year. Would anyone be interested? Advance booking fee is £5 per exhibit. This includes free entry into vehicle competitions and one free admission into the show. Normal admission is £3.50 per person (OAPs and children go free) and free parking.

I'll post a link up to the photos I took, just as soon as my camera battery has recharged. :)

Hi

My first post on here...

I was at this show, I was surprised to see 2 Alpine's there, loved them both, think I was parked behind juzz black for a bit (in a Clio Williams). Good show, some very nice cars there, I especially liked the mint Audi Quattro! Hopefully will be a bigger show next year, I actually preferred it to the French Car Show which was such a let down this year...

Yeh, that Quattro was parked next to me. Was nice but I'll keep the A610 thanks! Were you parked by Juzz in the main car park? I watched you drive off I think, the Williams is a great motor, should have parked with us in the main area!! :-)

Hi Tommo. Sorry, don't remember seeing your car. Didn't know there was one running around Runcorn.

Top motor the Clio Williams. You should have come over for a chin-wag! :)

Yes I was parked behind juzz in the main parking area, we didn't stay long though. May look to put her in the main show next year... :)

Juzz, where abouts in Runcorn are you? I'm pretty sure I saw you in the Shell garage on Hallwood a while ago, if I remember correctly your Alpine has the loudest exhaust I've ever heard!! Sounds great! I'll come over for a chat next time I see you...

Yes I think I've got the only Clio Williams in Runcorn, never seen another around anyway, only really use her on weekends now though so that's why you won't have seen it. Not many modern classic cars in this town, only chavy Corsa's and Fiesta ST's!!

Yes that would have been me. :D I often fill up at Hallwood. Unfortunately I haven't got that exhaust on it anymore. :( It was great fun and sounded brill, but I must be getting old because it was a bit tiresome on long journeys, so I put the standard one back on. You can't hear me coming anymore. I drive around in stealth mode! Sounds very boring though, I must admit. I sometimes feel tempted to put the loud one back on! :D

I mostly only take mine out on weekends too. Sometimes give it the occasional mid week run to work and back too. Just to keep the cobwebs off! :) I'll keep a look out for your Clio. 8)
