David Gentleman has been getting a fair bit of flack here.

I just wanted to put on record that i have been dealing with him for a fair few years and have had no problems. 99% of the times i can get him on the phone number on his site, the other 1% of the times if i don't get him i leave a message and he gets back to me when he can.

As some of you may know i live and work in Belfast restoring GTA's and i am always in need if parts so i need a reliable contact in the UK.

These cars are rare, and parts are getting harder and more expensive to get year on year, so i am aware that when i ask, or order parts they may take longer than more popular cars to source.

Anyway, i am sure a few people will have a rant but this is where i stand.

To be honest, I havent seen any real flack, unless Ive missed it.

Ive had one guy moaning as a document wallet has gone missing via post (when I always use DHL - but told not to this time) and hence I refunded it, so no issue there, and another customer I supplied a throttle potentiometer for an A610 which turned out to be a wrong fitment, so again Ill refund that also..

The problem is because they havent heard from me for a few days as I havent been on here, or busy with my other things, people get keyboard happy and start ranting and raving...

Do they think I am going to scam someone for a £10 wallet, or a £20 pot?

Next time, I might not help and tell anybody I have these parts, and just throw them in the bin instead, and save the hassle!

Well I have said before he has always delivered parts to me personally so I have had no problems. Others have had problems it seems or why else would they post about it?

Anyway I won't hijack his threads anymore as it's none of my business(had one too many beers that night  Still think Deloreans are carp though  ). I'll leave it upto Dave and his customer to sort it out between them.

No, but its not a problem, because at the end of the day, if an item doesnt turn up, or your not happy with it, I simply refund it.

No one loses out, except me. But I accept that as thats how I do business.

These cars are difficult enough to keep running on the road with all their quirks and I'm just glad there are people like David Gentleman, Turbodog, JohnC, Clee etc etc that provide invaluable information and advice.

Cheers guys

Yeah, I sent some flack David's way...

David supplied the Potentiometer to me, which was the wrong part. It took me ages to get hold of him which really frustrated me and lead me to believe he was ignoring me. Of course, he wasn't... it's just he hadn't been on the forum for a long long time. I've had my fingers burnt before on forums and i'm glad there was a real reason behind the lack of conversation between us. Sometimes you don't know the habits of other forum members and you assume we're all on here all the time (especially directly before and after selling or buying something.) On reflection this is obviously not always the case. Well, when he did get in touch he was very nice about the whole thing, especially after i'd come out with all guns blazing! No harm done.
