PRV oddfire efi intake manifold?

Postby 91tbrick » Wed Oct 29, 2008 5:07 am

I've heard that one of the renaults came with a fuel injected intake manifold on an oddfire engine. Cany anyone tell me which model, engine model or years to look for. I'd like to megasquirt my volvo but need something with a throttle body and fuel injectors. I bought an intake from a newer, evenfire equipped volvo but that turned out to be a waste of time.

Yep, they fit fine but you'll lose some of the venturi effect using a turbo manifold.

Put very simply, all the EFI engines have off-round inlet ports EXCEPT the 2.5 turbo which are round like the old odd-fires

I just know there is a major difference in how the even and odd fire manifolds bolt on that keeps me from borrowing from the later volvos here in the states but I want to turbocharge or supercharge my b28 whch is oddfire. This requires using a real fuel injection system like megasquirt that can work with the origional oddfire ignition system. Hence the need for a real manifold that has injector ports in it and a real throttle body vs the old K-jet stuff that won't take a turbo well and makes a mess of the engine bay.

I have a complete inlet manifold system from a Renault Espace 2.9 V6.

Is this what you are looking for?

No he isn't as I said above all the EFI engines have off-round inlet ports EXCEPT the 2.5 turbo. Yours would bolt down but the ports are a different shape.

Come to think of it, I KNOW the heads have off-round ports and always just assumed the intake did too.

The heads on my b27 are completely round though slightly up from center. The heads on my b28 have been ported and are completely round and centered. The later b280 which was the even fire had smaller openings that were round and low to center with a cut out at the top for the fuel injectors.

Everything I've been reading says that the GTA turbo is an evenfire engine, not oddfire, can anyone tell me which it is? I haven't been able to find out anything on the NA version of the GTA.

ALL the EFI engines are even fire except for special builds like the Peugeot WM LeMans engines. Carb and K-Jet engines are odd-fire.
