Well, as Andy said, not the best conditions for picking up any car, dark cold and wet.... But it ran okay and there is a file of history of scary bills. Had a clutch about 10K ago, cam belt 4K ago, mind you that's 3 years ago now.
Made it to Taunton before the Alternator seized and melted the belt, RAC got me home about 1am!
Haven't had a chance to have a proper look at it, but heating controls a bit iffy (all electric) and the windows slow (sound familiar). Definately an old car despite the low milage.

Looks nice though and sounds incredible!

Italian electrics are even worst than Renault, I am Italian and only owned a hand full of Italian cars, then again I have owned quite a few Renaults.......... but I do have a really soft spot for them Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Lancia or Maserati. 8)

Rupert, If you spot another Ferrari bargain on ebay, PLEASE call me directly. I only bought a GTA because Ferrari's were expensive, now the economy has turned, I am an eager buyer again, but not a Moddial thanks.
V12s preferred, but consider a nice V8 too.

Simon, how about this one: http://www.verdi-ferrari.com/stock.asp?s=212

or a little cheaper: http://www.morsemotors.co.uk/64665/stock.htm

or more seriously:

or something a little newer:

or if you happen to have the appropriate part exchange lying around:

Looks like if you want anything apart from a replica, mondial, or 400i your going to have to spend around £20k Simon.

Looking through completed ebay bargains recently this is all that came close to Rupert's bargain...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0273530820

Looks good at first glance but it's a replica.

LMFAO

Having said that mine is still sitting in the garage, albeit with the wheel off and the alternator off, and that one prbably drives.

Looks like the alternator is ok, it's just the belt that let go.

Keep finding little bits of rust here and there though.... not used to that with the Alpine.

I don't think spending £7K on a tatty kit car copy of an ugly Ferrari is such a great buy.

I think the best buys are cars which are going to recover in price once people start to come to their senses, realising that the world isn't going to end some time soon.
