I have a budget of ..................nil
You're probably right Martin .I'm trying to get a load of info together on what is poss.
Laguna lump ? but there are probs with the valves and compression .610 lump waaaay too much money .
It has to be PRV and I need to fund it from my bits bin
I have 2 full sets of newly ringed GTA pistons and liners ,GTA crankcases and a very cheap source to do any machining work I can think of ........................It may take a while but I can pay with my services
2bobanconka .
I'm looking at probably £1 to 1.5k to do the whole thing ...less if I can make/modify or adapt ....
I was going down the twin turbo route but doing the math it just aint possible .

My 2p on the 3 litre turbos is that as standard, they're a bit dumbed down - according to Kevin, the gearbox is no good much beyond 300ft-lbs and the 3 litres smash that barrier if tuned.

If you think about it, simply increasing the stroke on a 2.5 will add torque low down but do little to the max power because the engine can't breathe any more easily. The V260 has blistering accelleration, and the Venturi literature says nearly 300ft-lbs from the 2.8's

If going 3 litres from a NA lump, start with a Laguna engine (not a Safrane one) and make a set of pistons. Cams are anyones guess, but tappets are hydraulic instead of solid in the 610.

I threw three 73mm even fire cranks away when I cleared outmy workshop

Weall...... how about making some shorter rods and dropping in a 73mm crank. 7mm shorter should do the trick (5mm would see the same crown height, but the CR will have increased).... but you're in the realms of the unknown ;)

Why not just stick with what you have and aim for that 250bhp? I'm sure it's been mentioned far too many times in the past but didn't the Europa Cup have 300bhp? So it is possible (although so Turbodog tells me they used to go through 3 engines per race   ).

I'm going to .250 is there already I'm sure ,it ' felt ' quicker when I had the bigger turbo on for the mapping , just ran out of injectors ..........
But I've got 1 and a half Z7U sitting here doing nowt .One's on the bench for a measure and fit up .Has anyone got a 73 even fire crank .I'm sure that's what I sold to Spryboy many years ago ,2.8 espace lump ??
Mr Dell ? didn't you pick up some stuff from him ? I could drop it in on the bench and see .....

Prolly best to mock something up on the bench to see if it's feasible in terms of side movement, and also, how far down the liner does it start to expand out, and can the rings be allowed to run 7mm further down the walls? Would the result be totally out of balance? (the crank has counterweights on it)

It was your feckin idea
Yes ,I'm going to model up the block 'n' stufff on the cad .Might need to relieve the block in places but the extra stroke should be OK looking at the liners .
I'm off down to my man in Leicester either end this week or early next to get Dave Ms Adapt trigger wheel etc knocked up .I'll take a block/crank piston/rod with me and get some measuring done while I wait .............
I'll run a clock down the liners as well ....
Why would the assembly go out of balance ?

Yup, and it's never progressed beyond that point, so yer on yer own :D Until such time as you've proved it works, then I'll be beating a path to your door for a set of cheap rods, obviously.....

Sorry I just saw crank not Espace/25, I still get mesmerized by your avatar!

I think there are a couple of Espace V6's being broken on ebay at the moment?

ANY even fire PRV crank that's not a Z7U will be what you need. Look also for Volvo 760, Citroen XM... Pug....

Wish I had at least one of my old ones, I'd swap you for your modded flywheel without even blinking

The only peculiarity is the Laguna version which has the bizarre 72.7mm stroke.
