upgrade GTA

hello,
sorry for bad language, but I from belgium. :shock:


I am want information to over boost PRV motor from Alpine GTA V6 turbo 87'.

what do you think about air/water intercooling system. (sorry for bad thecnical used) :lol:

One of my friends is the boss of a company that repairs the engine and cylinder heads for the sports car.
I can then use the machines as I want.

use the yoke of a 3 liter engine of a Citroen XM to increase engine?
Standard base engine venture?
Or what possible preparation to reach 280 / 300 hp engine for PRV?

I also want to improve braking. what are the fixtures possible with pieces of Renault and Peugeot (406 ,...)?

You will find the SEARCH facility on this web site to be a very usefull tool.

Search for Chargecooler (it is a water to air intercooler). YES, they work very well, go to www.chargecooler.co.uk for options. I have a 10 by 4 unit.

If you can wait a few months then you might well get some real answers on what is possible and works with custom GTA engine builds .I know there are a couple of engines being developed at the moment .
A good look through the web pages search will give plenty of theory but very little in the way of actual results .
I would start by making sure your engine wiring and sensors are all correct .Check all your fuel system and renew with new and uprated bits if required .
Many a std old GTA will not have the book quoted 200 bhp .You may well find you get a lot of that back just by servicing .
You will need aftermarket ECU as well or at the very least a chip .

I think it's pretty well agreed that the Z7U cannot be pushed past 260hp without different cams, but nobody over here has done a cam'd Z7U as far as I know.

For the figures you're looking for, the approach I'd take, given the cost, would be to buy a Volvo B280E engine, then take the cams and crankshaft from it to fit to your Z7U and have a set of pistons made so that you can create a 2849cc low compression Z7U with decent cams. You will need an aftermarket ECU too.

It's surprisingly more tricky to do a 3 litre engine - for a start, you'd need an A610 intake manifold.
