Wipers Not Working

Postby jon_viola » Thu Feb 12, 2009 11:31 pm

Just been out to get things sorted before taking the car away to Germany etc and the bloody wipers have stopped working! They got stuck, i tried to move them and now nothing! How do i get them sorted? They seem to be moving independently now not clapping hands, any ideas?

You've got a screw loose  .It's probably just the nut under the arm .It locks the arm end on a spline and I reckon you've forced it and it loosened off .
Pivot the cover up where the arm attaches and nit the nut up .Do it with both arms in their normal rest position .

Before i go and have a go, how do i "pivot the cover off"? Is that just lifting the black plastic at the base of the windscreen? If the worst comes to the worst is it easy to remove the whole motor?

I think you'll just need to tighten the nuts up Jon .The wipers are moving aren't they ?Just out of sequence ?

Ah, sadly no! Motor jammed, you can feel it "trying" but even with the wipers off their splines there's no movement. Somehow it's gone and got all fecked
