David supplied the Potentiometer to me, which was the wrong part. It took me ages to get hold of him which really frustrated me and lead me to believe he was ignoring me. Of course, he wasn't... it's just he hadn't been on the forum for a long long time. I've had my fingers burnt before on forums and i'm glad there was a real reason behind the lack of conversation between us. Sometimes you don't know the habits of other forum members and you assume we're all on here all the time (especially directly before and after selling or buying something.) On reflection this is obviously not always the case. Well, when he did get in touch he was very nice about the whole thing, especially after i'd come out with all guns blazing! No harm done.

Ditto Alex's comments - I'm the 'bloke whose been moaning about the lost glovebox wallet' and I have to agree that David is the perfect gentleman over the phone. It is all too easy to vent your spleen in writing, as I unfortunately did, when frustrated with something that's gone wrong, and it's nearly always better to talk. What really got to me was that whilst David had indeed sent the wallet to me, I had simultaneously returned a heavy, much more valuable, package to him and neither has arrived - so that's not David's fault and I apologise to him for having a go. Sorry david.
What I am really frustrated and disgusted at though is the Royal Mail service, which has failed us both on this occasion - either the Royal Mail employs some very untrustworthy characters, or the system is disturbingly inefficient. A combination of the two I suspect is near the truth! Be warned, I have certainly learned my lesson and will not trust anything of value, or anything that I wouldn't wish to be lost, valuable or not, to Royal Mail (standard service) ever again! Fortunately the valuable items in this instance (en route to David) were insured against loss, but that's not the point really is it?
