I can't believe I'm saying this but....
the LPG Volvo T5 sounds an interesting idea- they are as quick as an atmo and not far behind a GTA turbo.....(on a straight anyway) not bad handling, excellent seats, and when you have finished with it the Turbo can find its way into your GTA.....

Amazing prices. :P

What about a Rover 800 Fastback, big boot and comfy cruiser
I had a 2.0 petrol Auto and got 29mpg over 25,000 from it. Only changed the oil twice in 18 months, just put cheapo Tesco oil into it.
2.5 diesel is available if thats what you really want.
Cheap to buy, insure and service.

My suggestions

Postby Tony Smith » Thu Apr 23, 2009 3:35 pm

Turbo diesel Xantia, very comfy and economical and go well with 110 bhp lump, chips well when you've got a bit of spare money. Saab 9000/9-5 turbo, huge inside very quick especially on the motorway, Volvo's as mentioned earlier - 850 T5 cheap as chips, e34 5 series all cheap, got a 540 touring coming myself next week. Or strap it to the roof  and get something smaller. Big japanese cars are 2 a penney and should prove reliable i.e Honda Legend, Subaru Legacy, Nissan Maxima and similar
Alpines - GTA 3.0 Turbo, GTA 3.0 Inj (Project DD), GTA 6.2 V8 (500 bhp) , R32 Skyline GTR, BMW Alpina B10 635 Highline, Alpina B10 E39 5 Series, Jaguar 4.2 XKR, Laguna 205GT, BMW 120d.
