Just stick it on, there is no intelligence in the valve itself, the control is derived from the MAP sensor input to the ECU, speed input etc as RED21 says. The output to the valve is then modulated to drive to the desired boost control given by the boost map in the Renix. It just gives you nice smooth boost build without spiking and potential detonation issues... the rest of us like the torque spike changing down gears! The point about loss of torque without it, is only the fact that the AMAL also cuts the pressure feed to the waste gate actuator - hence it doesn't start creeping open at around 4-6psi depending on the strength of the spring and pre-load... keep those gasses doing that spinning thang...

If you love lots of torque boost and have appropriate fuel and ignition control - just put in a mech blocking valve set at +10 psi (ish, set to taste) :D :D no waste gate creep until you really need it!
... A diamond is only a piece of coal that did well under pressure... PRV afflicted, may be I need to squeeze harder!!!!

Guys

Thanks very much for all your posts..... but my question was very simple all I was asking was will it be ok to use tha AMAL valve from the RS Turbo and it was not about if I want to use it or not. As some people who know me they know I like my cars standard.

SO SHOULD I USE THE RS TURBO AMAL VALVE I HAVE, OR DO I NEED TO GET A 610 NEW ONE FROM WHO EVER CAN SUPPLY ME ONE???? THAT'S ALL I WANT TO KNOW.

It would appear they are set to work at a certain pressure .Do you know what that is in both cases ? No .Get the proper one then :roll:

I think RED 21 answered that point, if the restrictors are the same size, use it, if not get another one unless you can move them over.
Do they open up so you can check the internals too?

I would be rather inclined to try the RS one and see what happens........it cant do any harm :wink:................but I am a great one for repairing things.....is the 610 one beyond repair.....pic pse, and whats it made of?

610 one it's cracked and the units are sealed. :cry: I'll try to RS one and see what happens.......

Thats not the only thing you can order from Renault, I've just fitted a S/ex box- decode (actual discribtion on delivery sheet and parts slide & it mean service ex-change box) :oops: :oops:

Then there is "Or/gas/mic seal from Nissan, translated it mean Orange gasket seal - Micra :shock:
