Atmo Ignition Module

I have been thinking for some time that I should carry a spare Ign Module for my Alp, when on my travels. I found this one available which has the same manufactures Pt. No. as the one in my Alp, and the connections tally with the cct diag for the Atmo.
Can anyone tell me the cost of a S/H one from a breaker, or does £50 sound reasonable for a new one :?:

Sounds reasonable - is it definitely brand new, or refurbed?

Hi Martin,

According to the advert...new, with 3 yr warranty. It does seem a good deal as the ones in your links, converted from dollars are £123 & £108 respectively,.....plus they are in the UK....just across the river from you in North Ockendon, Essex :wink:

As no one came up with a S/H offer, or S/H price guide, I checked with my freindly Renault garage about availability and price of new one........no longer available from them, so I ordered one of these, only to find out that it is not an original, but a replacement. Anyway it arrived today, and I have tried it out just by piggy backing it to the original with a cable tie, and swapping the connector over, and it works with apparantely no problems at all. The ign module its self is minuterised and attached to the large heat sink, which gets quite warm. Clearly, how I had it attached was not ideal as air could not get to both sides of the heat sink, so I suppose it got warmer than if it were fitted properly. But as a "get you home" fix no problem....... fitting time...about 3mins.
The pics below show it fitted, and a close up of how different it is, but all the fixing holes are in the right place :wink:

Think if you unclip the plastic cover of your OEM part, that you will find it to be the same as your new part, the module is small in comparison to the heat sink.

Thanks for that, that`s interesting.....I tried to get hold of a u/s one that a member had, to take it apart to see what was inside, unfortunately he was so pleased to have found the fault that he ditched it before I had time to ask him for it :cry:

Looks like you are on to something here- the metal plate even has the "ears" for the cover to attach to.

If you even need it, you should be able to make it look just like the old one, shame with the old cover it will look just as old as the original one too!
