RAOC+RTOC 20+ Car Convoy To WSR Nurburgring 18,19,20 Sep

Postby bigstevet » Tue Apr 28, 2009 3:44 pm

Hi Guys,

I'm Steve from the RTOC :? and am organising a trip to the WSR Nurburgring for September this year.

Would be great if we could go over en-masse & put up a good show from the UK. Anyone on here interested in coming along?? :)

I'm trying to organise some passes for the event with the D'ARC and have got us all booked into a hotel right round the corner from Nurburg so the plan is certainly coming together.

I'm going to be taking my car to exhibit as will 9 other members.

If you're interested please PM me or post a reply on here!

See you at Silverstone! 8)

But that's just the same cars wheeled out again so not missing much
It's more about the journey/craic than the event itself with these Euro trips .

Hi Stephen,

Further to our conversation at the Bromley Pagent if you could help me pull a few strings with the D'ARC to ensure myself & the rest of the guys from the RTOC can get Exhibitor Passes at the WSR Nurburgring that would be brilliant.

So far the list of the people wishing to exhibit their cars are as follows:

1 Steven Thomson Renault 5 GT Turbo Raider
2 Duncan McMahon Renault 5 GT Turbo Phase 2
3 Andrew Robey Renault 5 GT Turbo Phase 2
4 Stuart Peiri Renault 5 GT Turbo Phase 1
5 Iain Lomax Clio V6 Phase 2
6 Dale Jarvis Renault 5 GT Turbo Phase 2 with F4R Turbo Engine
7 Paul Mullineaux Renault 5 GT Turbo Phase 2 with VAG 1.8t 20v Turbo Engine
8 Justin Fisher Renault 5 GT Turbo Raider
9 Matthew Barlow New Clio 1.2 TCE
10 Matthew Clemets Renault 5 GT Turbo Phase 2
11 Nick Kettle Renault 5 GT Turbo Phase 2 Cabriolet

There are 32 people going in total but only the above people wish to exhibit their cars.

For everyone's interest we have all booked outselves into the Hotel Rieder http://hotelrieder-en.basiccms.de/index.html & as i understand it they have a few rooms left so if any of you are interested you can see where we're staying.

Steve

Some people are travelling from Hull to Rotterdam but most of us are travelling from Dover to Dunkirque on Norfolkline.

I'm booked on the 06:00 ferry on the Friday morning  so we can take our time getting there & stop for some lunch on the way down.

The Norfolkline crossings are really cheap and from what I've heard from the lads who have used it before the boats are nicer? :)

For the RAOC boys there are a couple of ways we can do this.

Leave on Friday or earlier and have have a nice drive down and a couple of nights stay. Shutte will be about £100 return and hotel £50 per night for a couple of nights.

OR Mr Dell Normal crazy late drive and super cheap special. Not as bad as normal though. Shuttle only £34 return + hotel £50 for one night.

The cheap version would be arrive Eurotunnel appprox Midnight UK Friday for a 00:50 check in. Arrive France 2:00 am.

Drive to Adenau is 283 miles, about 5 hours. Arriving just in time for Breakfast!

Saturday WSR Nurburgring + Maybe the odd lap + the odd lap of the Nordschleife (the Nurburgring proper)

Saturday Night Pizzeria in Adenau + Hotel Adenau

Sunday Possible WSR AM + 2 to 3 hours at the Nordschleife.

Leave Adenau 3.00pm - 4.00pm Sunday afternoon.

Returning on a 21:50 check in Sunday night.

Back in the UK approx 9.50pm.

Just to keep you all in the loop myself & a lot of the RTOC members are going on the following Norfolkline Ferry crossings:

Dover - Dunkirque Friday 18th Sept 06:00 Sailing

Dunkirque - Dover Monday 21st Sept 18:00 Sailing

One of the lads has just booked their crossing & paid £31 for it so Norfolkline are certainly cheap at the moment!! 8)

Yes that's very cheap and well worth considering as an option.

A convoy would be good.

How much is your hotel by the way?
