T2 EFI Conversion, Fueling set-up help

Postby steveatyork » Mon Jun 29, 2009 9:05 am

Advice required on T2 fueling set-up

Things are now coming on with the T2's EFI conversion, All the fabrication works done, new engine, bits n pieces like the throttle linkage, coilpack ect............what i thought would be the easy(ish) bit getting some fuel lines made up, as ended up looking a bit more confusing  Fuel pumps n things all over the place on the standard set-up :) Fuel Accumulator :? :? Pump-Accumulator-filter then two other pumps further back

A? Do you reckon the standard pressure pump will be upto the job? Dump the accumulator?
B? It seems from other questions elswere that the two pumps at the back are satuation pumps :? ime guessing these will have to remain.
C? If i replace the standard pressure pump with say a Aeromotive "Bling" pump :) will that work OK inline with the "satuation" pumps?
D? To be honest i havnt had time yet to stick my head into the depths of the T2's engine bay..re;fueling, just a lot of questions in advance.... Return fuel line  what return fuel hose... a quick look and it isnt visible  are these the hoses which run accross the bulkhead (back of the engine) is so will these need replacing?High pressure?

Next stop will be Chris to wire up the adaptronic and hopfully have it running by the end of the summer

Any advice appreciated lads.

Steve

Hi there mate, I didn't know the stock setup was K-Jet - I know that stuff well as it's standard on DeLoreans.

It sounds like you have a lift pump and a high pressure pump, and if you can give me the number of the HP pump, I can find out what the flow is, but it'll probably be easily enough, not least because K-Jet runs a primary pressure of 5 bar. The 28 year old DeLorean fuel pump is good for over 400hp if you can believe it.

The accumulator is not necessary when running EFI but I leave it in on the DeLorean because it removes any possibility of a hot-start issue.

You also need an EFI pressure regulator, but I gues you know that.
