Santa pod today

Postby Tony Smith » Sun Jul 12, 2009 3:45 pm

What a shit day! Realised the police had my license from being knicked a few weeks back. Managed to find someone to sign my car on. Queue up for 1/2 an hour then 2 cars in succesion dumped a load of oil, then the ambulance had to leave to sort out a broken leg so we had to wait 2 cars from the start for another 1/2 hour. Finally got to run, completely shagged my start - very slippery didn't hook up until 2nd gear. Ran 14.2 - shit, terminal was a bit better 103.28. I checked Lee's and Steve's times from 1/8mile - 1/4mile (9.5 - 14.2 in my case)) and they are all very close (takes the bad start out of the equation) at around 4.7 -5.0 seconds.
Spent 1/2 hour looking round the show which was poor. Queued up again and it pissed down with rain had about 45minute wait without the rain so gave up and went home. I'm confident a good launch will see similar times to Lee and Steve. To top the day off nicely my carbon fibre airbox must have been shaken loose by the axle tramp as it came out the back of the car at 80 miles an hour on the way home and imbedded itself in the front of an 09 plate Lexus 460 - he was not impressed!

So you couldn't get away from a lardy lexus, I keep telling every one that even though they are heavy, they do have a great trun for speed and acceletation, especially after they are off the line.
