better home?

Postby EATMYPLASTICARSE » Sat Jul 18, 2009 12:17 pm

Hi all, well my atmo beast has been parked up now for around 4 mths, m.o.t ran out ( only done about 200 miles since last re-new ) s.o.r.n . and battery now playing up..............well i only paid £2000 for her 3yrs ago ( with no m.o.t ) and have had plenty of fun since ! . usual faults paint/ some electrics, but she is a good strong girl with A610 steering wheel and s/s racing exhaust ( what an amazing noise ! ) colour red................now my question is: She is going up 4 sale soon what do you think is a resonable sale price......is £2000 still fair?. cheers all. John

Personnally, I'd chuck it in for an MOT and go from there.
Any car without an MOT tends to put potential buyers off, even if it's a classic.

Would have thought 3K min for an Atmo.
I see fleabay have a couple on (Turbo's) for around 6 & 8K

Phildini's GTA is also up for £3.5-4k and looks quite a bargain. The two for around £8k on ebay look in exceptional condition and real minters ( at least one of them is in a Renault specialist dealer!) but possibly a bit pricey and unlikely to sell for those prices. Still, prices do seem to be picking up a bit? I think I'd get a new battery and MOT on yours though if I were you.

The stripes are stickers I saw this car with Mr Dell few months back.

I am sure Mr Dell will varify that.

:D No I think he will get the reserve price, an A110 with under 4k miles is very rare, price looks big to us because of the Euro exchange rate, after all a year ago this would only have equated to £40k.

As a guide just sold the mint red late 1990 79K Atmo with OEM BBS wheels, new MOT, rebuilt engine, new clutch, new headlamp glasses for £3K so prices are still rock bottom.

True but they don't want RHD!!

(unless it's less than half price typically 60% - 70% off)

Which is a shame, for the majority of time it makes no difference when on 'the wrong' side of the road.

Over 50% of my cars have been left hookers, and I have never felt 'dis advantaged' when driving in the UK. Shame the French don't feel the same way.

However about two months ago met a French chap at the ferry port who was driving a RHD GTA Turbo (white). He had bought it only a week or so earlier (in the UK) and was very pleased with it, pronouncing it as 'the bargain of a lifetime'.
