Porsche wheels on a GTA?

Postby skattrd » Sun Aug 23, 2009 8:35 am

I have some spare Porsche d90's and was wondering if they would fit on a GTA with adapters.
The wheels are 5x130 et53 16" 7j front 8j rear, I know I can get adapters for VW's (20mm) to fit 4x100 making them et33 - any reason why I couldn't use these on a GTA?

Seen a picture before (Mr gentleman from memory) 928 rims on a GTA so it's obviously possible. Why would you want to make it look like a porsche tho?

Cheers Martin, I thought it should be possible.

Its not to make it look like a Porsche though. Its me thinking of using spare wheels I have lying around instead of buying more ..... I'm not sure how many sets of alloys I have, buts its at least 5.
I was also thinking that the adapters should be usable for putting the same wheels on a vw as well (poss with spigot rings)

8J's

Postby Tony Smith » Sun Aug 23, 2009 6:48 pm

8" wheels look proper wimpy on the back of a GTA - even with spacers in my opinion. Put 'em on E-bay and stick the cash towards some proper wheels! I'm sure its a man thing wanting to recycle rather than replace. A friend of mine's old sofas have gone from his living room to his games room and now reside in his posh shed for those moments when you want to take a break from the gardening!

When I went to Belgium with Mr Dell for the world record attempt last year there was a GTA with 911 wheels on it, looked quite good. I did have a set of Porsche wheels too, but then decided to abandon trying to fit them onto an alpine and sold them on fleabay instead
