I need to start putting some money back in the bank...... The Puttana A610 has taken everything....... I also need the space.... :cry: :cry: and yes she is a very good car.....

The Red Beauty has now gone, :cry: :cry: :cry: All the way to Australia. She was a really good car and never missed a beat I hope the new owner will enjoy it as much as I did.

Next, to get my black GTA and A610 on the road.......... :wink:

Don't get too worried about the number of GTAs going to Australia. I think the numbers will now be up to around 14 Turbos and 4 Atmos, although 2 of the atmos came from New Zealand (of 14 sold there new)and were exported to Aus in recent years.

These cars are now in a much better environment to prevent rusting components and lead a cared for existence here.

As long as they are going to good homes. Our hopeless weather certainly doesn't help preserve the life of cars! I'd love to move out to Oz! Do you know of any A610's over there? :wink:

There is only one A610 in Aus as it is a lot of hassle to get them complied for road use with our current laws. Any imported car built after 1/1/89 has to undergo much more stringent testing, and require new cat,seatbelts,brake hoses, all filters and fluids, and also fit side intrusion bars to the doors. (bars for all cars after approx. 1982)

Now comes the tough part, it has to be done by someone certified to do that make and model of car of which there are none.

There is also emissions and noise testing, with my stock piped GTA Turbo barely passing the noise test.

The A610 came in some years ago as a personal import meaning it was owned and used by the person for at least 12 months overseas, and no you can't go over, buy a car, come back, and bring it over in 12 months time. It must be continual ownership and use.

You even have to show service and MOT documents to prove this, including your passport.


Most Alpines live in Melbourne through the good work of Alpine Affaire that have been around importing and converting Alpines for at least 20 years.

There are 5 Turbos, 1 Atmo, 1 A310 and 1 A110, and the A610 in Queensland.
