AZEV Wheels

Postby StephenB » Mon Nov 30, 2009 5:21 pm

Gents,
On a business trip to Germany managed to getr time to visit the AZEV factory to find out what is going on and have bad news for all us Alpine lovers. Azev stated that they will no longer be making 17" or 18" wheels for either front or rear fitment. When pushed they stated that the only wheels they would have available would be 16" ones for the GTA 4 x hole.
I then asked them if I could get a batch order would they do me a special order and they stated no.
So looks like 'we is all outta luck'. I only need one front and rear 17" to finish off the repaired car. Looks like I'll have to buy a complete set of another manufacturer.
Mr Dell as the only thing available was the 16" I didnt even bother getting more info. Perhaps it might be interesting to see if you could buy the moulds for the 17" & 18" for the club and we can then control the re-manufacture of the wheels.
Anyone else got some other suggestions that might prove useful?????
Regards
StephenB

Didn't someone (with a GTA) stumble on the Azev's years ago by fitting a set made for a BMW 3 Series E30? Would have been for a kitted one I would have thought so the offset was pretty near to fit the GTA....

Maybe we can say they are for Das BMW ya! Thus getting a set that way

I wish!! Gonna try this TDC when it arrives hopefully on Thursday but then there's still the final install of the Turbo and setting it all up. Then an MOT to negotiate after sitting for almost 6 months. Still hopefully we'll get there soon....

My experience is that AZEV is heavy too, about 5kg per corner, but I am 2 inches bigger in diameter and width.
