Peter, I can't find the Northern Speed Championship site on the net, maybe you can point me to it as I too would be interested to see what you beat. :D :D :D

The club that runs it is Wigton motor club, but their site wont give individual times etc unless its one of their events, it just posts overall positions and class positions after rounds. Darlington motor club ran the Croft event and will no doubt post results. The only other Wigton entered car against me yesterday was my old Rover 200!!! So I had built both the cars :D He had just had the engine rebuilt after blowing it up at Knockhill last year.......it may be serious opposition once he has got it properly set up. It had well over 200bhp when I had it and revved like a motor bike.

Heres a link to the speed section of the Wigton site. http://www.wigtonmc.co.uk/speed/speed.htm
It will be updated in the next week or so and should show me 2nd overall and 1st in class R2 :D (the 2nd overall bit wont last unfortunately!) At the minute they have me down as running in M1 which is a modified class....although I would still be leading it at the minute if any events were filled in on the table 8)

Well done Peter, especialy in doggy weather.
My season doesn't start for a couple of weeks yet but I have a test day at Gurston this sunday which was re-surfaced 3-4 months ago so if it rains or damp it's going to EEEEEEEEEEEEK :?

Excellent! Thanks for that......it looks dry on the photo!!!! Must have been down the back of the circuit as the start and end sections were swimming......the event started late because they had a JCB scooping water off the track!!!
Goodluck at Gurston....resurface usually equals no grip, and loads of offs!!!!!

Had my test day at Gurston on sunday and all I can say blomming eeek  it`s fast. The new surface is nice and smooth, some of the corners have been reprofiled with a touch of camber/ wider exits and the kerbs are not so harsh!
Fortuantly the weather stayed dry all day and the track got better as more rubber was laid down,I even ended up setting a new PB on my last run of the day.
There was also a very tidy A110 having play
times:
41.51s -39.94s-39.12s-40.00s-40.00s-40.00s-38.99
One thing I couldn't do another 40s three times in a row again :?

It was Peter Ellens there and he is on the entry list for the 16th April meeting at Gurston Down also.

Yes, the south western based at Gurston

Thats what I thought at first or some one playing a joke but no I got the ticker tape receipts to prove it, but I have my excuses like fluffed gear change, fuel surge and idiot brain. But that whats testing is for!!!!!!

Well I have my entry list for Kames on Sunday and its very poor! At this event last year there were 8 in class.....this year 3!!!!!!! I suspect its because its come several weeks earlier due to the fact that the first event is always on Easter monday and easter monday was early. Having said that one of my main rivals has turned out in his Honda civic. Kames is very twisty so my power advantage will count for less. His car is featherweight and packing a vtec engine and is very well sorted and ideally suited to the event. Hes also a very good driver......would probably beat me if he had my car!!!! Only beat him by 1 1/2 seconds last year.
