Wiring Diagrams - A610

Postby mellowyellowa610 » Mon Jan 04, 2010 10:04 pm

Anybody got a wiring diagram for the main loom behind the radio? The A610 Manuals have a section in the index for the radio but it is missing in the actual manual. A full diagram of the original wiring would be very handy as everything is either red or white and looks the same. I'm probably being stupid and have just missed it in the Manual.

Also, has anyone upgraded their stereo and kept the stalk control. How easy is to connect this up to an aftermarket stereo?

Cheers

I can send you pic's of my car if you want, as I have not fitted a stereo yet and mine it's all original. I will be fitting a Alpine unit and I bought the adaptor so I can use the stalk.

All A610 wiring is numbered- not colour coded-the numbers on the wiring diagram are also on the car wiring too. You only need to find the numbers that correspond to the wires you are looking for....

Beware if you buy an off the shelf ISO to Renault converter it won't work correctly- you'll find the front or rear speakers are crossed over on an A610 compared to the standard connector so you'll need to swap over one pair of speakers at some point between the back of the radio and the car loom. Where its easiest to do this will depend on the radio fitted. You should be able to unclip the pins from one of the connectors and swap it over without too much difficulty. Of course if you already have a non standard radio (is yours Ben Hilliars's old car with a double Din installed already??) this may already have been done elsewhere.
When I found this I thought there was a fault on my car or the connector, but a check against the wiring diagram shows its not compliant with the ISO standard (on 94 cars anyway). The joy of small volume cars....

On the remote stalk, I have had this connected to both Kenwood and Alpine units- not 100% the same functionality as original, but works fine no problems.
