As some of you are aware I have broken a few GTA's up for parts. These have all suffered (bar a write off) from major rust. With the chassis not being glavanised and the A610 having more metal up front I thought I would try and be proactive. I have booked the Alpine in on Saturday with these guys to have a full waxoil treatment carried out.

http://www.rustmaster.co.uk/

They have 2 sites one in Hatfield and the other a new venture in Stoke on Trent. They are offering a good price (due to it being mainly plastic) and then a members discount. I will take some pictures of the process and maybe other members might be interested.

I'll keep you posted.

does this acually work, obviously it will protect from the outset from new but what if some rust has already started, does it prevent it from further oxidisation or does it microwave it self .....rot from the inside out?

Sorry mate I just want to know as I have a job lot of wax oil at home and I was thinking about doing some treatments myself, just wanted to know if its worth my effort?

PS dont have time to read the link ...being lazy thought someone might have some quick answers?

I think it is a must really, when I used to have my Lancia Delta EVO intergale i used to get that waxoiled and my old car was a very good example when I sold it. The specialist I bought it from showed me a car used quite regulary that had not been waxoiled and it was in a hell of a state! I would say it would be a good idea to get any parts painted/ undersealed then waxoil it!

Paul,

How much are they looking to charge for your car to be done out of interest?

Cheers

My Lancia used to cost £300 for the whole car but on an alpine it should be cheaper as there is less to do.
