Just dont forget that when you surface skim a flywheel face with a hydro clutch you will lose a little bit of clearance when the clutch is depressed.

The step has has been machined to suit . We have increased the pre load though .Mr F has all the dims ....

Yes, your clamping pressure will stay the same with the step retained.

What i am saying is that the release bearing now has further to go to fully release the clutch.

You might think that it is a very small amount, but in the world of the clutches thats a lot! You dont really want crunchy gears.

For every action there is an equal and opposite................ :lol:

We won't be using the std clutch so it will all need some development .Might even end up having a custom one made .....It will still be cheaper than a 610 jobby :shock:

Not much progress as its just been to damn cold out there ...but the starter is on after a bit of grinder and shim :evil:
Will need to re-route the turbo drain as it's now covered by the starter .Just bolting bits together now and we'll be there ....well nearly ...intercooling still needs some thought ..

Anyone got a source for VAG bits ? I need a sump plug to block the existing turbo drain .......

If it's the same as an actual sump plug, snap off the top of a spark plug and use that - M14x1.25mm thread.

The starter gear protrudes further from the mount face than the std GTA one so it was permanently engaged .I has to space it back about 7mm .
This makes it very tight to the engine mount so have had to shorten the terminals and grind the mount down .Will need some more taking off and I'll put some flying leads on to make it easier to work with .

Arh, so this is the engine build with the swapped manifolds to help exhaust air flow?
Crikey, the start is close to the manifld.
I have some of the Zircotec ZircoFlex heat shield material, might come in usefull but it is expensive.
When i met with Zircotec, they were ok to offer a better price for a group buy, maybe this could be tried if there is enough interest?
