Brakes!!

Have had my GTA Turbo for 3 months now and am having a ball with it but there is something strange with the brakes. They are OK(but not fantastic) the first time you press the pedal but if you lift off and re-apply them or get involved in any cadence braking, the pedal feels rock hard and the stopping power is awful. The pads look very new so I have a feeling they were replaced not long before I bought the car.

Anyone had anything similar or have any ideas?

Gibson, perhaps if you detail the specs of the disks and pads, some of the "been there before" clan will have the answers for you. There are red stuff, green stuff and ferodo pads that I know of also I know that disks can be 20 mm or 22 mm in thickness, flat, scored (like Tarox) or drilled & scored, for better cooling and ventelation etc. Good luck and nice looking GTA.

Only info I have at the moment is that fronts are grooved and cross drilled and the rears are grooved only. Will get extra info tomorrow as car is at home.

Normally on most cars, soft then hard pedal is usually caused by damaged brake lines, or theyve taken in water or condensation which wont compress, or something else is restricting the lines..
