Brake servo protective panel

Seriously though, this is something I can`t understand, My Alp did not have this undertray fitted at the factory. I collected the car new from CAT in Southampton and brought it back to Jersey on trade plates, the car has never been to the garage for any major work, so it can`t have been removed, there are no captive nuts fitted to the chassis like the Alps with the panel fitted. When I collected it I had them put it up on a lift to inspect the underside before accepting it, and got some cable ties off them to tidy up the cables running down the center which are still there today, and no one mentioned the tray at that time. Does anyone know why some Alps have them and others don`t

Is 1990 begining to get towards the end of production? My '86 car has one. Maybe near the end that were containing costs and did not buy in more undertrays?

Strange that it has never been there John. Every GTA I have had/pulled apart has either had it or the screws have been there when it's been missing and forgotten to be put back on.

Maybe yours was a friday afternoon GTA where Claude (Chief Inspection Panel Fitter) was still at the pub when your was finished

Simon...Thats a possibility, but I wonder if the Le Mans Alps had them as they came out just after the demise of the GTA`s. The 610 appear to have them plus a full length cover down the spine of the chassis

Matrtin... Yes I just can`t understand it at all.....it does not make any sense, but why mine .....mind you, everything like that happens to me.... If they cut a woman in half.....I would get the half that eats!!!!

The Le Mans cars have a different undershield that runs from the front of the bumper right to the front bulkhead. So, is in fact, twice the length of a GTA one. I suspect that why your car was not fitted with the undertray was because the fixing nuts had not been fitted in the chassis when made and therefore when it came to fit the tray there was nothing for it to be fixed to.
