HELP GTA TURBO NOT STARTING

Postby phildini » Tue Apr 27, 2010 9:52 am

Can anyone help please? GTA Turbo will not start, pump primes and is working, but not getting any spark. Tried another coil with no success, no power getting to the coil. Can anyone tell me what else I can look out for, any relays I should be checking or anything else I might be missing out? It is fitted with a Laser Line Alarm Immobiliser, but before I start to rip the dam thing out, I want to make sure it’s not something really stupid. Many Thanks.

ECU?

Is it turning over but not firing, or nothing at all?

I doubt it is an imobiliser problem...... especially if it is turning over....... but younever know?

What did you last do to the car? It was ok back on the 11th.

Having the same problem with mine now. Car refuses to start. It's turning over and it has plenty of fuel but it just refuses to start. I noticed the electronic incident warning light doesn't light when I turn the ignition on but the handbook says it should. So what might be broken if that light isn't coming on with the ignition?

I'm stuck in Redditch over 100miles from home with no tools! Heeeeelp!

If the cover to the diagnostic port is not on then the light will not come on .
You can test it by connecting pin 2 ( middle row top ) to pin 8 ( middle row 3 down ) think phone for number layout .

Check injector relay and TDC .

Check your coil lead is completely in dizzy and coil, even if you have to pull the boot up to see its getting contact .
This happened to mine the other day mine its an atmo but same principal .I replaced the coill as well and checked the coil lead several times but it was only when I pulled the boot back it worked
worth a try again though.
