GTA Atmo - ongoing project / spares / repair - £1600

Postby scottydog » Wed May 05, 2010 9:38 pm

The time has come to part with my GTA, after 3 1/2 years.

The car is an ongoing project but usable if you don't mind a few creaks from the rear. 6 months MOT. Personally I think it's too good to break (and it would be a shame to do so with so few still left) but a leather interior (seats and console) and good engine/gearbox probably justify most of the £1600 I am asking - should you choose to :-( I think the car is very realistically priced so tax is not included - although it can be left with the car if paid for separately.

There is plenty of information on my web site at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/sts-and-jp and I will be uploading some more photo's very soon.

I can be contacted on 07802 378029 (you might get voicemail but I will call back), PM via this site, or e-mail link on my homepage. Car located in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.

Thanks for looking!

Reason for sale - I have always wanted to build a kit car. It's become seriously tempting recently and a visit to Stoneleigh last weekend made my mind up. Check out the MEV Rocket and Sonic 7 : http://www.mevltd.co.uk/index.html - the Rocket is better looking I think, the Sonic 7 possibly slightly more practical - decisions........ (and there are a whole load of Lotus 7 replicas to look at as well). This will be the biggest project I have taken on and a serious challenge (to say the least!). But I am determined that it won't end up on eBay as an unfinished project!

Sorry to hear that, guessing you won't be needing the rear suspension parts should they ever turn up!

Shame your selling. Some pictures of the interior may help it along, good price so you should have no problem selling.

Try ebay (classified ad) and Piston Heads, if no-one snaps it up from on here.

Good luck with your next project.

Plenty of photo's now on my site...........

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/sts-and-jp/carsbikes/GTA-Gallery/index.html

Thanks all - it will be a shame to part with the GTA but I found when I had both the Alp and the Exxy that I could not maintain two cars properly.

Andy001 - would I be correct in assuming your friend deals in built cars? The challenge of the build and improving my skills is one of the reasons why I specifically want to build a kit (but thanks anyway :-))

I think so / hope so - it's not perfect - but I am not trying to sell it as such.

The couple of garages that have seen it have said it's pretty good underneath - and that has to be a good thing bearing in mind a few of the horror stories I have read about these rusting.

I am really hoping that someone buys it to finish off rather than to break up - I personally think it's too good to break.

Sold to an extremely nice chap who I suspect some of you know (and I know Steve Dell does as he passed my details on - thanks Steve - very much appreciated :D ).

I wish everyone was so professional when buying - I have had so much grief in the past which is one of the reasons why I publish the blog and spell everything out in so much detail.. The worst was when I sold a Fuego and the guy had it checked out. He turned up on the doorstep accusing me of all sorts - it turned out his garage was trying to rip him off and replace parts that did not need replacing. That went to Trading Standards in the end.

Anyway, back to the GTA...... Sold in 12 days to the first person to look at it? I missed a trick - I obviously should have asked for more money :-)

Very strange looking out on the drive at an empty space. No GTA after 3 1/2 years :-(

Thankfully now I can get rid of that extra large box of sawdust the gearbox needed to run smoothly, won't need to call the fire brigade out again and will have left the country by the time it rains again and the paint washes off - phew !

But seriously, although I am moving on to a new project (and the girlfriend has taken great delight in telling me yet again I have not actually finished something and just got bored with it!) it was a great shame to see the GTA being driven off by someone else.

I'd have another one........... definitely!

Someone got a bargain.

I don't understand people who expect a 20 year old car to be like brand new and expect a warranty or refund when things go wrong. I always dish out a receipt with "Sold as Seen, No warranty Implied or Given" get them to sign 2 copies and you keep one, no come backs then!
