Stunning car,
With the lovely rear lights. Why did they change those.
The newer ones look naff in comparison.

totally agree plus they've always been a bargain on the 2nd hand market something to do with the reputation of a mazza being a poor mans fezza, dunno about the gearbox though 4 speed full auto..... only thing thats puts me off..... some of the later cars have paddles or is that 4200? with the upgraded nasty back lights

Overpriced with that mileage. £1500 more gets you a car with half the miles and a possibility of selling it when you have finished with it. £3000 on top of that buys you a 4200 without the possibility of turbo trouble and almost all the performance of the Ferrari 430. Now THAT'S a bargain.

Cambio corsa gearbox

Postby Tony Smith » Sun Jun 13, 2010 5:43 am

I've heard nothing but bad things about the semi-auto boxes in the later cars - not unreliability - just horrible to use. I think they are cheap for the same reason Jags are - can't shake old reliability reputation so people are fearful on the 2nd hand market. To be fair there are some potentially big bills there - bet they are Ferrari prices to repair. You can buy a nice XKR Jag for less money - 650 BMW, also and many others I'm sure.
Alpines - GTA 3.0 Turbo, GTA 3.0 Inj (Project DD), GTA 6.2 V8 (500 bhp) , R32 Skyline GTR, BMW Alpina B10 635 Highline, Alpina B10 E39 5 Series, Jaguar 4.2 XKR, Laguna 205GT, BMW 120d.

My dream/next car (probably not going to happen unless they get down to A610 money  ):

Looks expensive compared to the Mazza...

Always liked these since I saw one in 1998. I need a rare V8 in my garage 8)

Anyone know owt about them?

The problem with the Maserati 3200GT for me, it always reminds me of a Daewoo Leganza! And before you all start calling me mad, you can definitely see the Giugiaro influence in the styling of both, particularly in the side profile and especially around the rear quarters. :P
GTA V6 Turbo - BTW check your earths!

Hit List

Postby Tony Smith » Sun Jun 13, 2010 3:49 pm

Theres a few cars I want to add to the collection in the next year or two before prices get silly. Still need a RX7 twin turbo, would like to get a RHD Renault 8 as a future project and soon as one comes into my price range a Nissan GTR to keep my R32 company.
