I'll have a spot

Postby Tony Smith » Wed Jul 07, 2010 7:48 pm

I'll bring something (probably my 635) but won't be the GTA, need to get my gearbox sorted first. But my Alpina engine is in and its not far away from being complete so be nice to get that tweaked on the rollers
Alpines - GTA 3.0 Turbo, GTA 3.0 Inj (Project DD), GTA 6.2 V8 (500 bhp) , R32 Skyline GTR, BMW Alpina B10 635 Highline, Alpina B10 E39 5 Series, Jaguar 4.2 XKR, Laguna 205GT, BMW 120d.

No probs Jon, have you got your drive shaft gaiter sorted? I'm sure we'll have another one at some stage.. you may even get to spend some Euros.. (not)

Ok Tony good stuff 8)

Places are beginning to get filled, and so probably max 2 or 3 more at the most that want to do all the runs. :D

Ok peeps, just a few weekends left and I'm sure we all have a jobs to do list. I've got to try and get my X19 ready (engine build, carbs rebuild, gearbox rebuild...) for Mallory Park the following weekend, and that's for me so the GTA is going on the back burner this weekend

Anyhow, the one I've got to get ready mainly needs turbo pipe work hooking up, Renix base map to get there, and... memory lapse, oh some wiring stuff for the electric pump time delay relay, and bunch of stuff that can wait until after. MOT pass the other weekend, so has a ticket now.

Points to make it a great day:

1. Battery good charge, alternator belt, and assumed functioning ok - do check, could be a lot of engine starts.
2. Fluids - coolant bleed and level ok. Make sure your fan is working, switches working etc.
3. Engine oil levels - don't overfill.
4. Set of fresh spark plugs to put in on the day, or talk to CLee to bring some of his stock consumables.
5. Tyres (rears)- put in a few extra pounds, reduce tyre flex losses, stiffen contact patch – Peter’s rollers are twin roller i.e. 2 contact patches, so need a few more pounds in the tyre i.e. get your best numbers on the day.
6. Packed Lunch and camera! May be some ear plugs if you hate noise..
7. Most of all enjoy, and looking forward to seeing you all there 8)

If like me you are a To Do Lister, join in, hopefully we all will have ours done!
:)
