Grey GTA Turbo Auction

Postby BIG_MVS » Fri Jul 23, 2010 7:10 pm

Spotted this advertised on a classic car website. Looks quite tidy and it's got the benefit of Tax and Test :D

http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/cla ... rno/103006

Downside is you need to be in Surrey at Sandown Racecourse next Tuesday to bid on it....

No it wasn't, it was a true shed, and the bottom estimate was the right price. You have never seen a worse accident repair or panel fit. Big MVS will have broken better and Mr Smith bought a better car for a third of the price the week before.

Truely horrible and I feel sorry for whoever bought it especially if they bid by phone and didn't see it.

Even the wheels, I did not think it possible for alloy wheels to corrode so badly.

On paper it looked like a deal but in the plastic, no.

You could make it nice again but it would not be cost effective.

On the plus side it made red leo look mint, so Mr Dini give it a polish and get it along to Sandown Park sharpish...

I have a feeling a few GTA's will be making there way there very soon...

Mr Smith, Mr Skedge and Mr Dell were all at the auction although only Mr Smith arrived in time to bid as it was the first lot.

Pick of the sale for me was a black Lancia Montecarlo.

Bought for £5K and now back on sale for £9K according to Mr Skedge, so must have been a good deal.

Well at least he's refurbished the alloys which were horrific!

Now just remove and re-fit the front end with some attempt at panel fit, repair the rear three quarter properly, straighten the rear bumper and repaint

I might even have a bid myself if it stays under £500...

Over £500 already Steve, your out........

It doesn't look too bad in the photos, just goes to show you need to view in the flesh before buying!

Wonder if he bought it to sell on all along or did he bid blind and was horrified when he got it home
