Who had power????
Hi Richard,
Yeap one of those days, the blue GTA had blown a front bearing before we had arrived on the drive up, so the signs were poor right out the gate... wouldn't want to imagine if we had done this next Friday, being the 13th! Top hose let go, couldn't get the water circuit to bleed right there after as joiner removed the expansion tank bleed circuit, and just got feed up really. Too tired, headache and bad head; bed would have been a better option. Need time to map it, as it hadn't really run apart from the drive up, just ran out of time... to-do lists... First couple of runs were 220 at the wheels, and then a run of 230, but had only managed to set fuelling at 6000 rpm and no other points when the hose gave up. Didn’t wind in any boost, max it went too was around 9psi.
Jon's car behaved nicely, having finished getting it ready 3am before hand. Jon had dropped it off, and I was later back from work than I had planned Thursday, and there were a few things to make sure we were ok before hand. Pulled a solid 170 repeatedly, that considering it is essentially standard with boost drooping from 9 to 7psi means he has much more to come, just need some time to get the turbo setup so it holds boost up the rev range. Sorry Jon didn’t get chance to play with setup etc, but with the power and torque info now, this should be a problem.
The Friday that was…
