Metalic Blue Fridge on wheels

I love em, as we used to say and probably still do built for Go Not For Show 8)

From what I hear its quite hi spec, but as I said there are very few people that can properly remap the ECU and the standard map sensor is only 2 bar so anything above 16 - 18 PSI is risky unless fueling has been uprated in some way.

A common upgrade would be to run 357 injectors and uprated fuel pump and regulator (Cossie) any idea what injectors are in it Clee.

Looks like a good buy Clee enjoy the look on the Bling possie as they get left behind by an old French wardobe on wheels PMSL

Si21 Well I used to think they looked like a fridge, but now I love em

amount of fuel you is chucking in the da engine innit is it running standard managagement modified ? Standalone?

Some of the lads in the 21 TOC are going for big power now machined liners forged pistons europa cup spec cams heads etc but the cup cars had different ecu's you can get the standard ecu mapped remapped across the channel but as yet do not k ow of anybody who can really get inside the renix unit here.

If the car is running rich the Lambda will sort the fueling on a phase 3 lump but if its running really rich the lamda will eventually get how you say canNakered

....................Does mine welcome to the world of 21's like I said up until recently the only chip mods were a) to advance ignition timing but as soon as engine temps get real hot the knock sensor steps in to retard :? b) the only other mod available is to max out the injector pulses which is the modded chip I have but on standard fuel pressure, regulator and injectors 18 PSI is the V Max I would run it at. The actual Map itself is untouched. However yours is running massive injectors, I suppose it may be possible to run boost to match the fueling LOL, what you must then watch out for if this is the case now that you have turned the boost down you may be running far too rich and be washing the bores of oil  although as previously mentioned the lambda will help sort out overfueling to a point with the later ECU.

The joys of buying a unknown modified car eh!!? find out as much as poss if I were you

Si21 - Its a shame my blue Quadra is not running, we could have parked next door to each other at WSR and been matching wardrobes

No Si ....Bosch code # 802 not 802cc  802 are the std units 280cc ish ? according to that tech chart DG has .
I've spoken to the previous owner Rupert this morning .He was very helpful but not technically minded .The guy that did all the work owns http://www.sasperformance.co.uk/
I've been in contact with them , tho the boss man was out when I rang .Hoping to speak to him sometime this week .He has tweaked the ECU and it has uprated pump ,reg ,turbo , etc .
Rupert says he trust him totally and any work will be top notch .
I've got it running at 18 lbs peak now so feel a bit safer till I know what's going on .

sorry my mistake

Postby si21 » Wed Jun 04, 2008 5:36 pm

I was thinking of 803's, which i think flow over 300 I certainly would not be running 25 psi with standard injectors otherwise it will be bye bye to an end liner, it will split and it has been known for them to go from top to bottom  at a boost of 22psi for instance. I am not expert, far from it but I would not run more than 18 PSI and expect it to be reliable. The ECU will be no more than I have previously suggested trust me as the ECU is not remappable you need to put in a reprogrammable chip and I bet my bottom dollar it has not had that . None the less you have all the right ingredients to make about 230 possibly 240 BHP with the turbo etc you have, you will not get massive power buy just turning up the boost thats why I have put a standard new lump in from Renault and left it slightly modded, its a quick road car which I occasionally rag to within an inch of its life and she still comes back for more. To get more power gets expensive with stand alone or I can put you in touch with someone in Belgium who can get the standard ECU remapped with minor mods and you will feel the benefits of slightly more power and good increase in torque.

Other than that leave it at 18 psi and enjoy it for what it is

si21 if not hope you got deep pockets and long arms

I have shallow pockets and arms like The Venus De Milo
Nice safe usable tune for the 21 and leave the blowing up for the GTA .
I'm on with that in the morning ,should find the problem fairly quickly I hope .Luckily I have two full sets of valves in a quality street tin .

P.S .I have found an alternator adjuster .Trouble is it's still on an engine and is a tad rusty .I've soaked it and will see if it frees up .I'll bring it with me on Sunday in any case .

Anyone else need any enginey type bits and bobs ??

Hi Lee,

Just looking at your 21 engine pic, and interestingly you have a Weber Marelli fuel pressure reg same as the one I have fitted to Lui / LTH blue car. The response is beating the accel pump fuel compensation algorithm in the Renix ECU on the GTA and well over fuels momentarily. Question - how do you get on with the your 21, does it bog a bit before it launches off as the over-fuel clears, or you hadn't noticed anything? Please please sir, can I peek at your bytes at some point, the answer may be there? Oh is there a pressure restriction drilling thingly in the manifold line to it?

Thanks Mart
... A diamond is only a piece of coal that did well under pressure... PRV afflicted, may be I need to squeeze harder!!!!
