Sorry guys if that comment was mention for me I have not in plied anyone is or was a retard.

I have re-read my posts and they do not imply anything against anyone merely about the vehicle I have.

I thought this was a friendly helpful forum where people helped one another whether they are a club member or not.

I have been a member os a club for 15 years as that is how long I have owned an A610

it is..... but you know these days...... things don't run on thin air this is why we try to encourage membership..... every little helps

and it's a small price o pay for all the benefit you'll get out of it,

the knowledge of the club specialists is invaluable.... plus the club now owns all the existing Rhd drive parts for GTA and A610 stuff you can't just go and buy down the local motor factors. plus if a member requests a part and we can't source it in the UK we have the facility to source direct from france

you know it's worth it so join up we'd love to have you as a member

and Faulksie might even help you fix your car......he'll be able to save you at least £30 in neurofen  he knows pretty much all there is to know about the inside of a PRV engine

Thanks Andy for the post but not all is as it seems.

I have always been able to get my parts unto now from either city motors or ferraris ATP or direct over the counter on my purpose made trips to dieppe.

"faulksie" said I had implied he was a retard but I can not find any reference to that in any of my posts that I have written.

I do not care if I meet members or not of any clubs I belong to, if I can help them I will, I do not need or require a subscription charge to help others out.

If I can bring a smile to someones face every day by Jesus I would have done right.

Geoff Arthur gave me a right list and I have had at his cost lengthy telephone calls from Cyprus George but still my car will not run when hot.

It can sit in my unit I have better cars to drive, 2006 Lamborghini Gallardo a special edition called a nera.

Yes it would be nice to be able to use the A610 but if I can not then well it's no great loss to me.

I do not have an open cheque book for it's repairs so I will just be patient until I am given the right advice.

I would have thought for all alpine anoraks it would be nice to help someone keeps theirs running and on the road.

But I have been wrong before.

i do not mean to offend you or anyone and sure hope i have not.

 .. are we a little short on a sense of humor, that's what emoticons are there for when absence of visual communication is there - ref was to the Introduce yourself thread. But if you want to be technical NLP precepts, nature of communication... :) .. there you go a smile!

Anyway, the advice that has been given is very sound. Tuesday will hopefully get you going in the right direction, once your injectors are tested and cleaned then your fuel system as far as start and idle is pretty well covered then, baring some other issue, but unlikely. The start phase is fixed delivery of fuel, and only once above fixed rpm breakpoint is closed loop control engaged. If your injectors are sticking and not closing off correctly the magnetic circuit (actuator core no reaching full travel) inside they will pull high current (peak) continuously and the current fold back protection in the ecu will cut the drive.

Bypassing the injection pump relay doesn't stop the injection safety relay from cutting the supply to the injectors.

Wait your results from Tuesday and your subsequent testing.

We did find a failed diode on Paul Cowley's Venturi 260 which held the injectors open constantly - but that wasn't an intermittent problwm.

If I were in front of the car, I'd probably seek out an alternate ECU and coil, including its base, to do swap-out tests.

One of the Venturi 300s had an intermittent cut-out problem which was eventually traced to the coil base.

My mechanic 'lawrence' thinks the injectors are sticking open as everything else he has checked appears to be working properly but it does smell rich upon initial crank over.

Well once the injectors are checked I may have to transport it somewhere else like um ART or Alpine@Stroud but my fear is that they will charge me to check what we have already checked.

I have like many Alpine owners endured several hours working on it more than I have driving it.

I have had 3 gearbox rebuilds in 10000 miles. An ex mate drove it and brought it back stuck in 2nd gear.

QAS (2001) rebuilt it with a contaminated clutch so I got Transmission (2003) workshops to do the 2nd re-build and they did what I asked them not to.

TES of Wiltshire (2007) (a Reno approved box builder) re-built without it checking it and sent the gearbox back to Lawrence with a bent primary shaft, luckily I spotted this prior to re-fitting it. They then re-built it properly with a full refund included.

i have not been able to enjoy the last gearbox recon due to my current problem.

I DO NOT MIND PAYING ANYONE TO FIX MY CARS AS LONG AS THEY CAN FIX IT.

(shameless advert here) we can have a look at it for you if you like. I've owned an A610 and a Venturi 300, we currently have a 300 in storage. I'm sure the owher wouldn't mind if we borrowed the coil and ECU for a quick test.

Also, you might like to consider simply buying new injectors - they're still dirt cheap from Renault - verging on the cost of refurbing the current ones.

You've certainly had some bad experiences with garages - don't blame the car though! I've done countless gearbox rebuilds (not personally - I use a local Renault fanatic gearbox specialist). Apart from those infernal driveshaft seals, I haven't had one come back yet. If you really want quality, you can always go to GTO.

THANK YOU FOR THE ADVICE.

i have changed the small square bit of the coil pack.

is there another bit of coil pack?

i will pop to reno first tomorrow and order 6 injectors prehaps change them anyway instead of testing the old ones?

DODGY GARAGES YOU MIGHT SAY.

BROUGHTONS OF CHELTENHAM

i had a bentley serviced 5 years go at Broughtons in Cheltenham, they charged me £1900, two days later the cam started knocking.

price of repair £20,000.

they refused to fix it despite the full warranty i had because i use the cars for weddings.

a massive argument and 4 months later they fixed it under warranty and sent the car back with a worse rattle. it went back and had a new engine. that went pop on test drive and had a 3rd lump put in it.

when it was returned 6 months later i put a new headlight bulb in it which meant removing the airboxes only to find they never put new air filters in it which was part of the service i paid them for.

LAMBORGHINI READING.....

i ordered front, rear transmission and gearbox oil from them at £160 plus £50 petrol money only to be given bottles with vw, audi and skoda wrote on them. when questioned they told me it was the prices lambo set yet jardine motors have all 3 types in there group. yet this would hav cost me £47 from my local skoda dealer.

they then told me upon me finding a park brake fault that the hand brake was NOT adjustable yet when i removed the rear cubby box (3 screws) there was the adjuster at the rear of the hand brake lever.

they then quoted me nearly £400 for a new lever. i removed the lever myself, it had a vw audi sign on it along with a part number, i purchased this from my local vw dealer for £40 and had it next day.

my moral of these stories is do not let yourself get ripped off and if they try sue them.

i was successful.

Hi Andy,

Your comments about Lambo parts made me laugh - a friend of mine bought one of the last Diablos and he ordered a Lambourgini golfing umbrella at the same time as his car. What he got was a large black umbrella with a tiny lambo label for £100 or something. (he got a refund)

There was a thread on PH about lambo parts prices. I think the winner for largest disparity was the seatbelt buckle in a Diablo - £700-odd from Lambo, or £15 from Fiat. The headlights for the late fixed units are a fortune from Lambo or peanuts from Nissan (they're off the 300ZX).
