I have been reliably informed that it's been sold to the trade. Expect it to be re-advertised soon at £10,995....

If it's gone to the trade they could be in trouble if they intend to make a profit unless they knocked £2K off the price for quick sale and are just trying for £8-£9K again.

Wish I'd bought it but it was twice the price of a GTA then.

Scruffy GTA now worth - 50% scruffy A110 + 400%

Similarly Renault 5 Turbo & 8 Gordini.

Seems you need a little race / rally heritage to make ££££

Update on the sale of mine...
The guy has not been returning calls, until today, when he suddenly tells me he has changed his mind.
And he wants he 500 deposit back. I said no way, and i shall be waiting for him to complete the deal.

Ive sent an email to a solicitor friend, but she has not replied yet. But im pretty sure Deposits are non-returnable in this type of transaction.

tell him deposit is non refundable..... simple reason to cover you in this type of situation..... which is true, you buy a new car it's the same.... the minimum deposit is non refundable

keep the deposit and reduce the price of the car..... you may sell it to someone else quite quickly....

I was in a similar position when I sold my first Z4 Coupe. I had lost about £40 in having to re-advertise so I just took £40 out of a £500 deposit and we were both happy.

I don't think he has any right to a refund of the deposit as he entered into a contract which he has now broken but I find these things are best to just get sorted and move on.

This car is soooo nice though. If the buyer is backing out because he's got cold feet - he will regret in years to come.

Depends on the contract (written or verbal) that you made at the time.

A deposit can either be refundable or non-refundable depending on the terms of the contract.

Both types have advantages and disadvantages for the buyer and seller.

That's still a valid contract and legal enforcement would depend on whether any witnesses were present for either side otherwise it's your word against his.
