Spider 'project'

Postby rupert » Mon Oct 25, 2010 8:12 pm

It'll be a brave or foolish man that takes this one on I reckon.

Appears to be loads of bits missing, interior trim etc.

Just logging the reg here in case it gets deleted! P820 NLW.

What thinkest you Andy?

tub is damaged so rebuild from scratch..... Mr D has seen it in the flesh before..... theres a bad history with it too, the previous owner crashed it stripped it as much as e could as it was in the process of repo so never been through the insurance for the accident damage....

if you want to buy it i can supply you with a tub to get started with

I know it well. I went to buy it in Newcastle from a salvage yard on November 6th 2007 for £2000 cash. The deal was done as long as there was no last minute ebay bidder, and (un)fortunately there was with a couple of minutes to go.

It was a repossession and the owner heavily stripped and sabotaged it before the finance company could collect it. He then listed all the missing parts on ebay over the next three years.

It sold bizzarely to Terry Grant who was doing work for Renault at the time presumably with a view to turning it into a stunt car.

There were some enquiries for parts made to me and Andy and when they worked out how many £££ it would cost to put right it disappeared until now...

It has been stored outside under a cover all this time and is now in a worse state then when this all started and it was already too bad to fix economically then.

The odd rear wheel is because the original alloy had been cut through deliberately with an angle grinder.

Not me this time. £2K was all the money last time and I reckon it still is.

If anyone does their sums they will realise they are screwed if they buy it for more and that's if they can even find the parts let along persuade someone to sell them to them!

Also it's a 'private listing' which is a well known term for seller and his mates bidding it up

Not me. Mr Dini bought the s/h Spider wheels and Mr Salama the new A610 ones.

Hmmmmmmmm....... road / race spider menage project.......

the only choice is....... LHD or RHD....... decisions decisions decisions :?

the truth is it's totally beyond economical repair and there's some essential parts missing that you can't find, i know a bloke who's got some of those bits from it though here in france as the guy originally sold them on ebay .....

even the driveshafts are gone from the looks of things..... it's a great shame

Jeez.

That shot up quick towards the end of the bidding.
