Should it stay or should it go?

So, my car has a leaky head gasket :cry:

My question is, is it really worth doing it?

I've done so much to the car I know it won't pay me back but you all know if I fix this something else will show up at the same time making the cost more than the car is probably worth at today's prices. Not to mention that I only seem to be able to do one trip before something else goes wrong.

Sell it as is and make some money back even if not very much.

Or I could sell it as is for parts? There's a lot of upgraded stuff on there that will really help someones car.

Basically a nightmare!!!

In the grand scheme of things a head gasket failure on a car is not a big deal especially at that age. Assuming the rest of the car is sound then of course it should stay.

You could buy another car on Monday and have the headgasket fail on that on Tuesday and be back to square one.

The tricky part is finding someone that knows what they are doing to do it at a reasonable cost.

KEEP IT !!- trust me . Every time something mega had happened I have had the same thoughts - clutch- headgasget- oil pump ....... Every time I come to write the advert it just can't get the words down on paper.
I sort the problem , turn the key and go for a hardcore drive & somehow the car & I are happy again.
Its good money after good for one of the least seen cars on British roads today. The turbo dump valve on full chat must be a sound worth ££££££ to a dedicated owner.
Now , I need to write an advert for my money pit so that we can heat the houses this winter. Where is that pen & paper ???
However one more in pieces has to increase the value of the few that are left.

Mmmmmmm.......

Thanks for all your thoughts. I think the problem for me is the cost now and the prospect of yet more costs after sorting this problem.

Maybe it's time to hand it on as a project, it's got so many upgraded bits on it i'm sure someone might want it.
