My mirrors were a pain in the rear, I ended up using a wire brush wheel and gave the threads a good clean.

What you doing with the expansion clips on the A post? and the black trim which goes around the door shut?

mirrors just need more carefull attention and they'll be ok. if you meen the roof-windscreen pillar trims the plan is to replace with new ones. i eased the ns one off this morning but it is stuck around the rear quarter glass must be glued. the ns expansion cover fell off when the roof trim was removed, ill have a look at os on monday and see where to go.
