For the love of God, your sanity, your marriage and your wallet stay away from this car and this Fecking Egit!!!
As the Stunned Monkey says we believe this was written off and Oselli were trying to buy the salvage a few years back, so this maybe a rebuild. Also Oselli are clueless when it comes to these cars, never mind if the plugs are difficult to change, you want to ask has the fool put the right plugs in the car in the first place. He puts plugs from none turbo cars into the turbo engine Venturi’s, he did it to my 260 and to several 300’s that we can be sure of. Believe me they are clueless and not adverse to buying a Venturi 300 for £12k - £13k and putting it on their forecourt for in excess of £25k!
I have been in conversation with the French owners club when they got a bit exited over it a few weeks ago. See below for a sample of what I posted in reply to their questions.
”Yes we have been lead to believe that this car was the subject of an insurance write off following a crash and we also believe that the Oselli people were trying to buy the wreck at that time. If this is the case then this car has been rebuilt, but to what standard we do not know, but it is safe to assume if Oselli have been involved with the work then the standard must be questioned.
If this car has not been wrecked then I can bear witness to the poor condition it was in when I viewed it in 2006 before buying my 260 APC. The body work was scratched and had some very large chips in the fibre-glass. Inside the car was dirty and the leather stained. At that time Oselli were unable to cure an engine fault and had sent for a specialist from France to attend and repair the car. At the time I went to view the car the very same photos were used to advertise the car and they were clearly old stock photos that did not give a true indication of the cars condition in 2006, it is unlikely they will be indicative of the car’s condition in 2011.
Oselli have no idea whatsoever how to maintain these cars and this usually means that many of the British based cars have found their way to Serge Lenoir or Tony Boulet for repairs. Serge has said to me in the past he does not understand why British cars have silly faults, Oselli is the reason, they can’t even install the right spark plugs! They have fitted non-turbo spark plugs to my 260 APC, MJG’s 300 and we must assume to all 300’s they have serviced.
Do not be tempted by this car, here in Britain if asked we advise against buying it!!! “
This vehicle is not registered at the DVLA, (Driver Vehicle Licensing Agency), with the same registration number, try it for yourself at the below link.
http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlP ... uiry_en&wfevent=link.next
First
Enter the vehicle registration number in the box Vehicle Registration Mark. S491 FGP
Second
For Vehicle Make: In the drop down menu select Venturi.
Third
Press next.
You will see a screen telling you “Vehicle details could not be found”.
To prove this system works click on the box enquiry and search again this time using my cars details.
In registration mark enter: J1 MVS
Now ignore the drop down menu and in the box below “If vehicle is not in drop down list please type into the following textbox” enter: MVS Venturi
This will show you the details of my car.
The least sinister conclusion to be drawn from this exercise is that the Bi-turbo has had its registration number changed and this supports the old stock photos statement. This is surely not an ethical way to do business showing photos of how the car used to look ten years ago? Ultimately I have met this man, I am not impressed by his knowledge of Venturi cars, and I have heard he bought a Venturi 300 from its owner and then added in excess of £10,000 when he advertised the car for sale. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MAN it will end badly for you!!!
In England we have a saying, “You can’t polish a turd”. This car has too many known problems from its past, allegedly a total wreck, poor general condition, not running properly and Oselli have been involved. It is not just me who has this very poor view of Oselli it is all of the British Community. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!
Hi
It is unlikely that any of the British Venturi Community would be prepared to travel to Witney to see this car as I have said previously we do not think he is a competent mechanic, and we usually refer to him as the “Witney winker”!

Paul.
