I went to C.A.T. in Southampton to pick up my Alp in late December 1989, but I insisted on being supplied a 1990 Model Year car, and I registered it on Jan 1st 1990 here in Jersey.
When I got to C.A.T. they were in the process of changing the nose cones to the recessed ones with the Alpine Badge of all the Alps that were in stock before onward delivery to the Performance Center dealers. So it does look as if the Alpine Badged Alps were for 1990 delivery.

That's quite interesting, John, thanks.

I never imagined that post-production nosecose swapping would have been taking place!

We have a few of the original transfers still in stock but any decent graphics place should be able to copy them OK.

Hi all,

I'm after a "RENAULT" & "GTA V6 turbo" set, in grey (for a light blue '86).

I ordered a set from DG @ ART 4 weeks ago, was informed 1 week later that they were in "manufacture" that weekend, only to be told today that the printer has gone out of business and I've been refunded :(

Please could anyone advise on alternative sources - do you have any in stock Steve? (or able to loan transfers so I can have some made?). I need a set before end May (Alps trip in June).

ETA: or if anyone can provide a high quality photo of the rear end showing the 'RENAULT GTA V6 Turbo" graphics clearly with accurate measurements (height, spacing, etc)... then I'll get some digitally designed & made, including a few additionals for donation to the club/members of course ;)

Ta, Paul.

p.s. I'm still on the look for headlamp lenses ;-)

I believe I have RENAULT decal, but cant recall if it's grey or silver.
I'll look this evening and advise.
It originally came from David G. along with ALPINE and GTA V6 TURBO decals, but decided to leave the RENAULT one off.

That would be awesome Paul. My car was a press car, so originally had the full Renault and Gta V6 turbo artwork, so it makes sense to restore it as-was.

I can't seem to find another source for these anywhere :( but I'm quite handy with photoshop and I know a good printer locally... so if I can get good quality photos of originals (on or off car) and a few measurements then we'll be sorted.

Mine only says GTA V6 TURBO on the right hand side

i'll take a picture tomorrow, but if you fancy a drive down to bournemouth you are more than welcome to come and take picture, measure etc...

i would meet you half way but currently off the road... tried to bleed the hydraulic system the other day coz of crunchy gears but obviously didnt do a good job as i now cant select any gear at all... hopefully will sort it out on the weekend...

The RENAULT is silver although to me it looks silvery grey.
You are quite welcome to have this, perhaps take dimensions off it and look for someone to produce the other decals you're after.
PM me your address and I'll post it off.

Cedric,
I've suffered this for years. Sticky hot day and finding a gear becomes difficult. Been meaning to renew my fluid but never really got round to it.
What did you use, an Easibleed ??

Paul, this seems to be a common complaint from Turbo owners, and I have often wondered if air scoops just in front of the gearboxes have been removed, because I understand some owners removed them because they scoop up road muck and plaster it all over the gearbox. But with it in place, it directs cool air around the gearbox and up towards the clutch slave cylinder keeping a flow of air around it....... Just a thought :?

That is bloody perfect Paul, exactly the kind of photo I'm after, I'll be able to create a digital design from that easily! Now all I need is someone to take a shot of the "GTA V6 turbo" in the same quality....

Nudge, nudge, anyone?

No I dont think so John. Mine has the scoop fitted.

It's just a simple case of old fluid with too much moisture in it. Add a dose of hot weather and bingo, lack of control in the slave cylinder.

It probably hasnt been changed for a very long time. What I dont want to do is change it and then find out (like Cedric) that I cant change gears at all.

You need to pressure bleed the clutch or you'll be there all day and still have issues .
Get a good high temp dot4 SBF600 ..Not the cheapest but very good .
