Carbon fibre Parts Group Buy

Postby Tony Smith » Fri Apr 08, 2011 8:30 am

I'm in the process of having some custom carbon fibre manufacturers quote on making a small batch of items for GTA's. Side Vents and under windscreen panel for the exterior. Engine bay cover. Kick plates, windcreen vents, and cubby doors, heater surround and ashtray for the interior. Obviously this will not be cheap because the moulds will have to be made but the more people who express an interest the cheaper it will be.

So
a) Who would be interested in what at what sort of price - and
b) Any other parts that people think would be a good idea to get made.

I'm hoping to be able to do the exterior kit (3 items) for around £500
and the interior kit for about the same. Engine cover will probably cost best part of that on it's own.

Battery cover has been suggested but I think it will be very expensive to do and could be a pig to get to fit just right as it won't be as flexible.

All comments and suggestions welcome

It is isn't it?

I think it still is isn't it - I think the only thing that beat my times were the Venturi 400 and Andy Holts Spider Turbo was quicker in some of the acceleration runs. Neither are Alps. Unless I've missed something of course. I'm sure it'll get beaten this year - but not by a car in full road trim

My figures were 5.1 to 60 - not 100% sure about the others but think they were 13.2 to 100 and 13.8 at 105 for the quarter mile . Venturi was figured in the wet - not sure about Andy's Spider
